Some of my best friends are vector spaces --- and I'd be happy to introduce you!

I have applied linear algebra to practical problems in physics, evolutionary biology, machine learning and quantitative finance, so I can help you do something similar. I currently teach NYU Tandon students how to do linear algebra on a computer, so I can help you with that, as well. Yes, I have a PhD (from NYU's Courant Institute), a publication list, and years of experience in both industry and academia, but what matters is why NYU Tandon hired me: I can take you from the basics to any of the above. Often, an hour isn't quite enough; hence the discount for 90 minutes.

    About Edward W.

After post-docs in mathematical biology with MacArthur Prize winner Stuart Kauffman and with Nobel Laureate Manfred Eigen, Ed joined HSBC’s interest rate derivatives desk, where he helped devise profitable trading strategies and improved the marking-to-market of interest rate sensitive deals. Moving on to Deutsche Bank, Ed managed several risk technology projects, using his own knowledge of risk to design the systems. As a result of Ed’s contributions to the Education Committee of the Global Association for Risk Professionals (GARP), he was invited to his current position on the faculty of NYU Tandon’s Department of Risk and Financial Engineering, where he has both taught and supervised 4 master’s theses. Currently living on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Ed has consulted for the New York Clearing House, a boutique CBO issuer, and three hedge funds, and privately tutored over 50 students in everything from high school algebra to corporate finance to advanced option theory.
