I became hard of hearing when I was about 2 years old due to multiple ear infections. I learned ASL when I was 6 years old and I've been signing since then. American Sign Language is a beautiful language that I think everyone should learn and it's not that difficult to learn once you grasp the concept of it. I have taught ASL classes in the past and I loved it and so did my students. I am very patient and understanding, I will work with you closely until you get the hang of it! I don't want you feeling frustrated trying to learn ASL, I will make it fun and easy as much as I can. There will be a lot of repetitions, it will help you learn better and faster. Not only will you learn how to sign, you will learn how to use body language and facial expressions. If you choose me, I promise you will have a good experience learning ASL with me. My name is Denise and I am hard of hearing. I have known ASL since I was 6 years old. I am a mother of 3 busy boys, they all are hearing and know some ASL. I am currently a SAHM mom, but I do have a side job through Shipt which I can create my own work schedule which is amazing for my family. I also officiate weddings for deaf couples. I used to teach ASL classes but that was put on hold so I can raise my kids but now that my kids are older, I have more flexibility in my schedule now to teach again. You will not be disappointed with me, we will have a good time together learning ASL, I am very kind and patient!
