With over 3 years of teaching English, Deanna offers classes tailored to the needs of the student, adapting teaching methods to each student specifically. She has experience with test preparation such as TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, etc., and also in teaching general vocabulary, grammar lessons, general conversation, resume/CV preparation, job interview preparation, discussing current events and cultural norms, and even games and practical applications.
Deanna encourages students to feel comfortable while speaking, ensuring them that making mistakes is part of the learning process, while giving them tips and tricks to remember grammar rules or vocabulary, and how to learn from mistakes. She believes there are several ways to essentially say the same thing, to get our message across, and communicating in another language involves exploring these various ways.
Deanna has always been involved in some type of teaching throughout her life. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Photography, and has taught students as a teaching assistant while attaining her diploma. In her professional life, she has taught on-the-job training for incoming photographers, and as a manager has trained employees for promotions or cross-training for various positions. Deanna has taught permaculture basics and values to fellow volunteers, and has taught English with fun and engaging courses and activities, either in person or online.
