Kids At Hope Youth Development Program

I have set-up an after school tutoring program and one-on-one mentoring program for college students to work with community members. I consistently motivate students and other team members. I utilized critical and analytical skills throughout the duration of the day. I promoted individual cultural history and the willingness to be open and respectful of all cultures. I attended conferences and workshops that enhanced cultural awareness, social and emotional awareness, and professional relationships.

Teach For America

I effectively planned and executed English and Language Arts curriculum for four different courses during the school year. The courses included reading intervention course, English and Language Arts courses, and a college and career readiness course. 40% of student reached benchmark scores to meet state standards by the end of the first semester. I utilized interpersonal communication through creating individual relationships with 150+ students. Students received recommendations to school-related and community resources. I have continuously attended multiple professional development sessions involving information on social justice, community involvement, student engagement, lesson planning and family involvement. Student's grades are constantly updated and conferences are set in order to maintain student/teacher relationships with students to improve student success.
