    About Daniel D.

In 2021, I completed a Master of Science in Education degree with an emphasis in English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) Curriculum and Instruction through Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (emphasis in reading) from Texas State University - San Marcos. I am a licensed educator in the states of Kansas and Texas. I have over fifteen years of classroom teaching experience in many areas, including English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, music, middle school math, and upper elementary grade levels. In addition, I have tutoring experience both privately and in an after-school program. I have worked with all ages of students (PreK-12 as well as adults). I believe that the most important aspect of a student’s education is the teacher. The teacher plans and facilitates learning experiences for the student and assesses and evaluates the student’s progress. Teachers must not only be knowledgeable about the content they teach, but also continually reflect on and improve their instructional practices. I use a variety of instructional methods for different types of learners, plan engaging lessons for my students, and plan lessons based on their needs. Furthermore, I use ongoing informal and formal assessment data to provide students with helpful feedback about their progress, identify student needs, and plan for further instruction. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like more information or to schedule a lesson!
