Reading

Elementary

I am a retired teacher. My focus is reading 1-5 and math K-3. As an elementary school teacher for eight years, I realized that each student academically develops at their own pace. In order for their development to be strong, they need one -on -one guidance. Classroom teachers have so much on their plates that is impossible to give every student the attention they deserve. I spent 21 years tutoring students individually and in small groups of one to five for reading and math. I am a certified Master Reading teacher who uses best practices for teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Currently I am certified through the Texas Education Agency for Elementary Education, Reading K-12 and ESL K-12. It is very important to me to get to know each client. I listen closely to their needs and expectations. I am available to teach lessons or help with homework. I want to learn about their hobbies, activities and interests and incorporate them into my lessons

I am a retired teacher. I have worked with students from PreK-12. I have always enjoyed teaching and love to have fun with my students. I enjoy reading aloud to students from some of my favorite books.   During lessons we have made different kinds of books using arts and crafts.  I incorporate students' hobbies and interests. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. My love for reading has led me to train with some of the best professionals in the country.  I use the best practices for reading in my tutoring.
