Engineering with Colin S.

I am a soon to be graduate from Purdue University in Engineering & Technology Education with a specialty in design. Students can expect to improve their design thinking skills, computational thinking skills, 21st century skills, and critical thinking skills in my virtual classroom. I encourage students to think for themselves and to think outside the box. There is never a wrong question nor a wrong answer when designing innovative solutions. That's what makes it fun! I have been in a classroom as a volunteer teaching aid for 2 years while being at Purdue. I have also had the opportunity to teach in a junior high school in the Technology class, aiding the teacher with facilitating and assessing students. While attending Purdue, I also work for an education company developing STEM oriented lesson plans. My responsibilities are to formulate and develop lesson plans that tie to the national standards of science, technology, engineering and math. My passion though is design, human-centered design. I love being given a problem a person has and solving it, whether it be with an innovative product or a new innovative process. In my opinion, human-centered problems are the most fun to solve, because there is the joyous feeling of lending a helping hand to someone in need.
