About Carol H.

My name is Carol Haidar, founder of Nasma Of New York, spending most of my life in the Middle East I was amazed but the beauty of the Middle Eastern Culture. I decided to to shed to a positive impact on the Middle Eastern Culture through teaching the language, music, art, and cooking.

I graduated from the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and worked as a TV reporter and a documentary filmmaker.

I have published two textbooks: "Ahla w Sahla" and "Shu fee ma fee". My textbooks are designed for my students to learn the Levantine dialect. They are conversational and currently being used at my school and at Xavier High School as well. I currently teach Levantine dialect as well as Modern Standard Arabic to New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds.

I offer online classes and one to one sessions.
