Hindi with Alexandra A.

Namasté! I have lived in India on and off over the past three years in intensive language programs including the Gilman Scholarship and Critical Language Award and two Critical Language Scholarships through the U.S. Department of State. I spent six months in Varanasi, India, taking Hindi lessons and tutoring both English to Hindi speakers and Hindi to English speakers and four months in Jaipur, Rajasthan. I have two years academic study from Banaras Hindu University and the American Institute of Indian Studies in Jaipur, and have a ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview certification of "Advanced," issued by AIIS and the Department of State/American Councils. I love the Hindi language for so many reasons and it has changed my life in countless ways. I look forward to sharing its depth and beauty with eager students looking to travel to India or simply interested in learning a new, exciting language!
