I was born and raised in Italy with the privilege of developing strong ties with the local American community linked to the U.S. Navy base. I was able to keep both languages simultaneously alive and current starting at a very young age.
After graduating from the William Shakespeare Linguistic High School of Formia (LT, Italy), I attended the Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori (Superior School for Interpreters and Translators, Rome, Italy) and graduated in 1992 after 5 years of advanced courses in technical and literal translation, grammar, literature, consecutive and simultaneous interpretation.
With my experiences, my studies and my passion for languages I was able to build a successful career as an Interpreter (last experience at CNN for the visit of Pope Francis in Myanmar), a Translator (Major ongoing clients: Amazon and Microsoft) and a private Teacher.
I have the honor of being part of the Board of Directors at AAIT (Atlanta Association of Interpreters and Translators) and the privilege of volunteering for the Italian translation of the app ShareTheMeal, an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme.
I was traveling to Italy and wanted to learn some basic sentences to be able to communicate... Alessandra was very kind, patient and smart.
Alessandra was a wonderful teacher. Super supportive and very patient. Easy to ask questions to and very interactive.
I really enjoyed learning Italian from Alessandra. She was always encouraging and kind. I had learned a little French before I started taking Italian lessons from her, and she inspired me to brush up on it as well! As someone who is from Italy she knew all the right phrases to help me prepare for my upcoming trip to Italy! I highly recommend taking instruction from her.+ Read More
Just what I needed. I was able to communicate with the locals during my visit to Italy a couple of years ago. I was so proud of myself! I continued taking classes with Alessandra when I came back so that I could communicate with my new Italian Facebook friends!+ Read More
