Gain an understanding of ASL from a deaf college graduate with 16+ years of experience

Hi, my name is Alan. I am a college graduate who is deaf and fluent in ASL, but can also speak and lipread well. In the past, I volunteered to teach a sign language class to a group of hearing students at a local public library on Tuesday evenings for several years. I have been teaching/tutoring ASL privately and publicly for over 16 years. I would love to help you learn ASL and interact with deaf people using the expressive and receptive skills that I have mastered throughout my life. I am a very patient teacher who would like to see you become successful in conversing in ASL. I am available to provide you with my tutoring service in the mornings, afternoons or evenings during the week. Please contact me if you are interested

Alan is the best! He is patient and offers great feedback. He has met me where I am in my ASL journey and tailored our sessions to my needs. We have very interesting conversations and I learn something new every time. I would highly recommend Alan to anyone who is looking to learn ASL! Thank you, Alan!

Alan is a great instructor! He comes prepared with topics, but doesn't mind tangential conversations based on questions I have. He's got a great sense of humor and manages to help me understand everything he's signing even if he has to repeat, fingerspell, or sign it differently. He's so patient.

In my first lesson I've already learned so much! I've tried teaching myself ASL in the past, but still images aren't even close to a real-time teacher. He's super nice and makes it easy to learn. Thank you!!
