Abstract Painting Lessons in Plainsboro. Amazing Teachers.

As a teacher for 7 years one of my favorite things is bringing the arts into teaching. I've taught infants through adults, beginners and advanced, and the one secret I can absolutely tell you about learning, is if you are happy then you are going to learn a lot more! I'm excited to get to know you and make you smile!

One of my favorite categories of painting is abstract. I love to see colors swirl, shapes form, and ideas flow in a free form way. Abstract is great for beginners, because you get a chance to grow in your confidence while growing your blending and brush technique.

Age-Appropriate areas of instruction include:
-Painting Techniques such as Layering, Mixing, Washes, and Glazing.
-Understanding Composition.
-Understanding Color Theory: Opposites or “complementary colors” on the color wheel; Painting with medium tones, so that highlights and shadows can be applied easily. Using multiple colors equals “depth” and “interest.”
-How to Mix Paint: Mixing using the palette knife, brush, on palette, or on painting.

I can teach all levels of Abstract painting. With my instruction student will learn not only abstract painting but the history of Abstract painting as well.

I want you to BE FREE! and be creative! I will help you have a creative goal and we will figure out a way to get you there! Either in 1 lesson or lots of lessons, there should always be a direction. I have many years of teaching art, sewing and technology to adults and children I want you to have fun and enjoy your experience and help you find your creative and artistic side....it's in there I promise!

You will learn all you should know about abstract painting, from choosing the right paint, paper, and brush, varnishing and creating a collage to creating a complete composition. I will assist you in creating abstract painting or mixed media art without spending a fortune on tools and materials. Plus you will be confident in understanding not only the technique like how to create texture but also your expression in this art form will take new life. Every class we work on something new.
