So what are you waiting for ? Sign up your lesson today!

About Kelvin
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

Kelvin is a great teacher. He understands and teaches in a way that makes sense to me. If you’ve played the Banjo you know the teacher needs a lot of patience and he does. He provides the right direction and more importantly listens to my questions. There is no doubt in my mind if you have to learn or improve your banjo skills Kelvin can help.

I have over thirty years experience teaching both privately and in group situations. I teach all levels from beginning and as young as six years old to the most advanced students. We never stop learning!

I started a very successful after school art program for kids grades 1-6 and taught it every day for over three years. I then expanded and had other artists teach it, eventually giving it to a non profit art organization in the San Diego area, after a successful ten year run.

About Lynn
Lynn B. attended four of the very best art colleges in the country With over 40 years experience in both painting and teaching art, she is well equipped to teach both any style and medium and to absolute beginners through advanced students.

Ms. Buettner has studied at several of the most prestigious art schools in the Northeast including: Rhode Island School of Design, The New York Art Students' League, the Paier College of Art in Connecticut, and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States and Canada, and is in collections worldwide. Summering on the East Coast on Martha's Vineyard Island, Ms. Buettner's work quickly became known and collected by local residents and returning island guests. Most originals were sold while still on her easel.

To keep up with demand, sh
e created a complete product line including collector's limited edition prints, her signature greeting card with collectible art magnet, art magnets, post cards, photo magnet frames, calendars, notebooks, folders and photo albums.

The publishing company that licensed her designs flew her to China to do an art signing at the Canton World Trade Show.

Enthusiastically sharing her knowledge, she has taught all levels of art to both beginners and adults for the past thirty years. She created and taught a very successful after school art program for kids for over ten years as well. After devoting the last twenty years to painting scenes ranging from realistic to impressionistic, Ms. Buettner is venturing out with her accomplished techniques and abilities, into the exciting and unusual world of intuitive expression. Letting go of conscious thoughts, an exciting, creative and sensual world emerges to be shared with the viewer. This work has been coined Neo Biomorphic.

Her work has been used on many different commercial projects including the Nash Bridges TV Show and the TV movie Diary of a Mad Housewife.

Starting a very successful after school art program for grades 1-6, she has extensive experience in all age groups bringing the student from beginning drawing to the most advanced painting techniques that took over 40 years to acquire.

Lynn was so helpful in aiding me to complete a project I have been wanting to complete. She went at my speed (sometimes slow, sometimes hasty) and helped me with techniques I had no idea about and others I just did not know how to do well. I was working on a portrait of a young girl in a dress and she helped me create the pleats in the dress and work on the girl's complextion and hair. As a hobby painter, I am very pleased with my final product which I am going to give as a gift with confidence!

Lynn is a great teacher. She has wonderful style to adapt the lesson to the level and interest of the student while continuing to achieve the planned results. She ask me each lesson what I want to achieve today with suggestions of things to consider. I highly recommend Lynn for lessons.

Lessons would be individualized to focus on areas that need the most guidance.

About Melissa
I have been teaching since 2006 on a variety of topics. I graduated with an BA from the University of Wisconsin. My degree is in History with and emphasis on East Asian history.

I've taught all age groups from age 2 up to retirees. My teaching experience includes one-on-one and group classes in a variety of settings. I've taught corporate classes, private lessons, small groups, and traditional classroom lessons.

We have a student-centric philosophy of learning. Lessons are generally relaxed and designed to work towards accomplishing student determined goals. While all students will study similar fundamentals regarding technique, theory, and performance, every lesson is as different as every person. Special focus on topics like music theory, self-accompaniment, composition, song writing, and home recording are available as well.

What are your personal goals? We'll tell you what you need to do to get there, and help you take the steps to achieve your aspirations.

Lessons with small children are more focused on just having fun while developing a good musical foundation, but we prefer for them to have as much personal ownership of their lesson as possible.

I made a last minute lesson with Megan as I panicked about a university project that I was in no way prepared for. She is a calming and professional energy that guides you along the first few movements. At the end of the class she summed up what the next steps would be, making sure to set me up for success. Whether you are wanting to learn how to paint using acrylic paints because it is something you have always wanted to learn or you are looking to learn new techniques, I am here to guide you! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be painting in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of color theory, drawing techniques, hand sight coordination techniques, and more. I have been painting for over fifthteen years in a variety of scales including large murals to small canvases. I am as eager to share basic to advance techniques as you are to learn. Self expression and painting techniques are a tool nobody can take from you once you have learned and embraced the art of painting. I have a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and have taught 2nd grade students and adults as well. Let's get painting!

About Belinda
I am a professional working artist and I am also an elementary piano teacher for an after school program here in Riverside. I obtained a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley where I specialized in multimedia installations that included large scale paintings and sculptures. Due to the versatility in my own work from large to very small scale paintings I have acquired techniques and skills for every scale in between.
I am a strong believer in self expression and visual literacy which gets stronger with the formulation of concepts one builds through inspiration for each painting. I enjoy teaching and learning what my students' interests are and what motivates them. I can help you learn specific skills for abstract paintings to portraits.
Through research I have also learned that individuals benefit greatly from cre
ative freedom thus performing better in other academic subjects, learning healthy ways of expression, and through the therapeutic effects of painting.
If you are looking to work with someone who loves what they do, who is patient, motivational, and can teach you basic to advanced skills give me a call and let's get painting!
