Hello! I am Marina! I’ve been oil painting since I was seven years old. It saved me from a childhood illness, as well as helped me rebuild my motor skills and self-confidence.

I’ve committed my career to the arts, and its valuable education, by providing high-quality education to all my students!!! My Goal is to raise the standards of artistic education.

In both my free-time and in my university, I've had an immense amount of practice in the visual arts. I can apply this experience in helping a beginner to become comfortable and confident in their craft.

I taught elementary art for several years, have taught adult classes for a couple of years and have helped to develop college students skill sets. I am positive, joyful and will celebrate you.

Whether you are wanting to learn how to paint using acrylic paints because it is something you have always wanted to learn or you are looking to learn new techniques, I am here to guide you! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be painting in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of color theory, drawing techniques, hand sight coordination techniques, and more. I have been painting for over fifthteen years in a variety of scales including large murals to small canvases. I am as eager to share basic to advance techniques as you are to learn. Self expression and painting techniques are a tool nobody can take from you once you have learned and embraced the art of painting. I have a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and have taught 2nd grade students and adults as well. Let's get painting!

Gesture, Expression and Experiment are my tools. I combination with an education in materials and the willingness to keep playing we end up confidently creating image. It is impossible to get anything done in an hour so try to find a way to book a longer time. Materials are somewhat included as I always have things but do contribute with art supplies, paper, found things. It's not necessary to spend a lot of money at the art supply store, just keep your eyes open at garage sales, etc and your store of materials will accumulate.
