I have teaching art since 2011. Unique to my personal experience, I have several years experience working as an ABA therapist in clinic, client homes, and in public setting. In addition, I have worked from early childhood through high school in public schools in various diverse communities.

As a current MFA student in my second residency, I am up to date with the current social emotional learning needs of students, contemporary artworks, and critical theory.

I earned my Bachelors of studio arts at University of Houston where I minored in Art History in 2017.

I am considered an interdisciplinary artist, preferring to work in a variety of mediums.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING LESSONS

Abstract Painting uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Abstract art, non figurative art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art are loosely related terms. They are similar, but perhaps not of identical meaning.

1. Favorite brands Daniel Smith Water-Soluble Oil Paints & Mediums, and Holbein Duo Aqua Water Soluble Oil

2. Proper Painting Brushes
I‘d suggest six total in a range of sizes: two size 2 brushes, two size 6 brushes, and two size 12 brushes. One of each pair should be a flat brush (with a squared-off brush tip) and the other should be a filbert brush (with a slightly rounded tip).

As a teacher for 7 years one of my favorite things is bringing the arts into teaching. I've taught infants through adults, beginners and advanced, and the one secret I can absolutely tell you about learning, is if you are happy then you are going to learn a lot more! I'm excited to get to know you and make you smile!

Creating watercolor herbs and floral design, as well as calligraphy is something I like to focus on. If you are interested in creating cute designs that are similar to the “Magnolia Market” style, then you’ll really enjoy my lessons.

Mr. Eric Son received his BFA in Entertainment Arts and Secondary Teaching Credential from California State University, Fullerton. For 15 years, he has taught high school students in Southern California. He has taught a variety of art classes such as studio art, graphic design, animation, video game design, digital photo, and video production classes. Before teaching, Mr. Son worked in the animation industry for Mike Young Productions in Woodland Hills. They produced PBS and morning cartoon shows including Bratz, Pet Alien, Doggy Day Care, Todds World, and many more. During his spare time, Mr. Son freelances for creative graphic companies and creates abstract paintings. His hobbies and interests include drawing and painting, exploring new places to eat, working out, sports, video games, and traveling.

PRIVATE CLASSE: 60 minute, 90 minute or 120 minute

With private watercolor classes I will show you the basics of watercolor, a variety of techniques and how to paint animals, faces or landscapes. Water colors are wonderful for illustrations , expressive art or realism . Water color is a relaxing and meditative medium perfect for a busy life to slow down and appreciate the creative flow.
