I bring 20 years of programming experience as a professional programmer in the Microsoft environment. I have done requirement gathering, software design and coding using C# and MVC with MS SQL and a number of other programming languages, but my main focus is on the later. I have worked on full-scale projects with multiple developers but I am currently working as a full-stack developer where I work independently on the full life cycle of a project. My tutoring will not only be theoretical but also practical using industry-standard approach.

About Alex

I am a professional software engineer with 18 years of experience working on full-scale projects for various companies. My main focus currently is on Microsoft C# MVC, MS SQL, Javascript, and JSON. I have worked on many team projects but currently, I am a full stack developer working independently on the full life cycle of the projects I implement which includes the requirement gathering, design, coding, and finally implementation. Many courses teach you the basics but don't teach you real-world application design. I remember when I was learning to program I was yearning to learn how it's done in the workplace but I only got the basics. I teach by giving real-world examples.

Private Computer Programming Teacher

Professional software developer with 15 years of experience in the .NET stack with a degree in computer science from Georgia Tech. I believe that we should start with the basics to make sure we're not missing important concepts. Once we have those down, we can move on to more advanced concepts. I enjoy programming live while sharing my screen but I also like my students to go through exercises themselves. The best way to succeed is through repeated failure and we will succeed with time!

You honestly cannot find a better instructor. He is so knowledgeable and patient, but more importantly he can take complex topics and break them down into easily understandable pieces. The best part about Byron is his massive amount of experience in the industry. So his examples are practical and real world based. Nothing you can learn from watching a tutorial or reading an article. Believe me, I tried.... :)

** Teaching Statement **

I believe in carefully crafting a culture of honesty, openness, understanding, and passion for learning among my students. My teaching style involves a great deal of personalization, and my curriculum and learning materials are catered to the student's unique background, circumstances, and short/long term goals. I take pride in my flexibility in adapting to the student, and have found great success in mentoring high school students curious about robotics, college students majoring in computer science, and middle aged adults interested in making a career switch to programming.

What makes the experience I provide unique is that I used to do programming formally many years ago and stepped away to do administrative work. In the past five years, I have come back to programming with a new perspective. I do consulting for my primary work which includes teaching IT professionals about the systems we are implementing, including automation tasks. This is what I do every day and I think it brings something special to what I offer here.

About Dustin

I began my career in web development over 20 years ago. I developed my skills over the preceding years by teaching myself to make web pages for a fan site that I wanted to create back before there were easy tools to do so. That led me to my career where I work with enterprise customers every day to understand their businesses and teach them how to use tools to drive business value.

My skills were originally in HTML, JavaScript, Java, and PHP, but I have done considerable work with shell scripting, Visual Basic, C/C++, PowerShell, and Python. My primary focus these days is PowerShell but I use very formal practices including Test-Driven Development and source code control with Git. In addition, I use these practices for DevOps which is a way to treat pretty much anything that you could type into a computer as code.

My five years working as a tutor since graduating from MIT University as a Computer Science major, as well as working as a Software Developer for six years has shown me that study skills are rarely explicitly taught in a school setting, but are among the most important for achieving consistent academic performance. Study skills are incorporated into all of my sessions with new students. It's an especially important focus with those that are struggling in multiple subjects. Together we look at time management, setting short-term and long-term goals, keeping ourselves honest about completing goals, as well as efficient backpack and agenda organization. In the end, Group discussion creates new and innovative ideas.

About Bhagwati

My goal is to explain the methodology to help the student answer other related questions on his own.

Excellent, positive, rewarding. The Lesson Space is great, and my students are the greatest!
I love the ability to interact with them using several different media, and watch their insecurities dissolve while their confidences grow."

I like to share knowledge with aspiring students and motivate them and I always handle any situation with positive attitude.

I believe that in order for students to fall in love with learning, they must have a teacher or tutor that loves teaching. I'm the teacher that loves teaching.

my strategy is to break down each problem into as many steps as possible so that way my student can fully comprehend what is going on.

About Joel

As a professional web developer and current teacher for a Chicago based boot camp, I understand how to teach programming in an effective way. This skill is in high demand, but for the beginner can be intimidating to learn.
