I teach all levels of students. My specialty is beginner and intermediate level of students and children.

About Lisa
I am a Colorado Native with a Music Degree from the University of Denver. I started playing the violin in elementary school and never stopped! I picked up the Viola in college. I enjoy playing that as well.
I have been teaching group classes for the Cherry Creek School district for over 10 years and love that. I have been teaching private lessons for over 10 years as well. Both are challenging in very different ways.
I enjoy watching my students learn and grow through music.
I love playing with an orchestra and playing with a quartet. I've played with several different local groups over the years.

*** Lesson Details ***
I do not offer one size fits all lessons. I tailor my lessons to fit the needs and goals of each individual student. I use a variety of different method books based on the musical background of each studen
t.
You can expect that I will ask a bunch of questions at the beginning of your lessons, and I will try a bunch of things at first. And then will make a decision based on what I think will be the best fit.
I like to utilize what technology has to offer, and I have a keyboard and a computer available at every lesson. I use them for ear training and listening activities.
I like to make sure that music is fun, however I will expect that students are doing the work at home, so at home practice is expected.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room w/ violin, piano, keyboard, music stands, and seating for parents.
Please note that I do have a dog in the home, please let me know if you have allergies.

*** Specialties ***
I teach beginning and intermediate violin. I teach a classic style.

My daughter, Katie, started her first violin lessons this year with Lisa. I wasn't sure if she was going to enjoy playing the violin as she is only 6 yrs old and pretty lively (hard to keep her still!), but Katie loved Lisa from the start. Lisa is friendly, patient, and easy going with Katie. Within a couple of months, Katie was already practicing her second song and sight reading her music. Lisa is a great violin teacher!

very patient teacher!

Lisa is very patient! My son is a typical 8 yr old boy with lots of energy and she is very good at keeping him focused. She is also very good at working on 1 thing at a time and not overwhelming students with no music experience. I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning violin.

I specialize in teaching classical violin but have extensive experience in performing many different kinds of music. The reason I mainly teach classical violin technique is in order to provide students with a solid technical foundation so that they have the skills to develop their own style and feel comfortable playing many different styles.

About Nicole
I have been playing violin for 17 years. I received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Psychology in 2013 from the University of Denver. In 2016 I added to my education with Graduate Certificates in the Suzuki Technique and the Alexander Technique. During my education I was fortunate enough to study violin with Jerilyn Jorgensen, Brad Watson, Carlo Feige, Roberto Andreoni, and Simone Fontenelli. From 2009-2016 I had the honor of performing in the Lamont Symphony Orchestra.

Given the extensive nature of my musical training and my great passion for music, specifically the violin, I can offer a student an engaging and instructive experience, that will allow them to reach any goal.

*** Lesson Details ***
As the only professional violinist certified in both the Alexander Technique and the Suzuki Pedagogy in Colorado, I focus on
building a students technical skills in a body healthy manner. My lessons are geared around encouraging a student's creativity and musicality, while at the same time providing them with the tools to work through each piece and each technical aspect of playing the violin.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The studio is fully equipped with plenty of parking.

Nicole is a very educated and skilled musician that offers a lot of insight to new and intermediate violin players. Her lessons focus on technique in various areas such as bowing strategies, shifting, and scales in various keys, and Nicole is always prepared to teach her students these skills and help them along the way.
We highly recommend her!

My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Nicole for almost 2 years. I appreciate Nicole's patience, the variety of techniques she uses to ensure proper posture, bow grip, etc; and the fact that the lessons are tailored to each individual student and their musical interests and habits. We will miss her when she moves out of the Denver area!

I have been teaching violin lessons for 5 years. I teach my students the basics of how to play the violin, how to read music, music theory, how to play with vibrato, fingerings (1st position-4th position) etc.

About Ellen
As Abbe' Dimnet once said, "Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves."

I aim to teach my students how to sing through kinesthesia. This allows them to internalize what they are doing in the studio so they can practice it at home and be more successful. Practicing what they learn in the studio will help them gain good habits, making singing and performing more effortless. One of the hard things about learning how to sing, is learning to use muscles you can not see. This is why kinesthesia is important! It helps the student learn how everything feels, so they can produce free, open, resonant sounds.

I also aim to teach my students artistry! Music can be a powerful influence in our lives and society. It is important for a student to learn to connect with their music so they can be better perfor
mers.

Last, I am a member of NATS. This allows me to continue my education on the voice and gives me new insights from other great teachers and vocal scientists around the nation. By being a member of this association, it also allows me to give my students opportunities to compete in competitions and get feedback from other great teachers.

I grew up in Centennial, Colorado and started playing the violin in 4th grade. I developed an interest in singing in middle school, and started voice lessons when I was 16. I have been singing ever since!

I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in April 2009, with a Bachelor degree in Music Science. I emphasized in vocal instruction.

I am happily married to my husband, Kevin, who is currently studying to be an optometrist.

Ellen is excellent! She has listened to our daughter and helped her to learn several songs on the violin which is what she wanted. She is actually practicing almost daily! Ellen plays alongside her so she can get a feel for the notes and how they sound. I like the way she teaches. She encourages and praises our daughter all the time.

The goal is to develop in each student the specific skills needed to play a string instrument as well as to nurture an understanding and love for music.
Lessons take place at my apartment in Southeast Denver, near Hampden and I-25. Students are expected to prepare for and participate annual studio recitals.

About Kostadin
I was raised in a musical family in my home country of Bulgaria, where I attended a highly competitive full-time performing arts school from age 6. I was trained in the Russian school of violin playing and have found this to be a very successful method for my younger students in the United States. Another important pedagogical mentor for me is my viola teacher at Rice University, Ivo-Jan Van der Werff, who has developed a systematic approach to building technique fundamentals in advanced violists and violinists. I believe that studying music is very valuable for instilling self-motivation, discipline, and dedication for students of all ages. I was involved in the Mercury Orchestra's outreach partnership with YES Prep schools, which serve underprivileged communities in Houston. I was also a string specialist at the Village School in Housto
n, and my students there and in other public schools in the area excelled in the All-Region and All-State competitions.

A good Violin/Viola teacher will enable you to achieve your full potential as a musician. Even adults with busy schedules find it helpful to take lessons once or twice a month to receive assistance with string technique. When selecting a Violin/Viola teacher for you or your child, remember that teaching styles and personalities differ. Some teachers may work well with some individuals and not others. An ideal teacher is one who will not only provide you with a solid foundation of violin/viola technique, but also one who will teach you in a manner that motivates and inspires you as a musician.

My passion is to implement foundational and critical techniques as well as encourage students to unleash their own creative potential. I believe lessons should be fun and that you should get to play songs that YOU love. Learning a new instrument should be exciting, not scary!

About Hayley
As a classically trained violinist, I can offer you important music theory and technique knowledge that will carry you far. As a folk artist, I also know how to bend the rules when necessary and create something unexpected. I have been teaching for 8 years and my favorite part of lessons is when I learn something new from my students. I love making sure my students not only feel that they are getting a quality education by learning from me, but that they also feel that they can express themselves and that they have something new and unique to offer the world. The more I teach, the more I learn.
I know that taking lessons can be intimidating, so I make it my goal for every student to feel comfortable and have fun! My job is not to make you into an artist, but to give you the tools to introduce you to the artist you already are.
