About Agustín
Greetings,

My name is Agustín (Auggie) and I'm registered as Community Health Worker at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I'm very enthusiastic about helping you to learn about health and patient advocacy.

I'm currently offering two related subjects in this platform:
1. Spanish Language for Healthcare Providers and Health Administrators
2. Health Coaching (and Patient Advocacy) for Individuals and Caregivers

My professional training in healthcare started at Harvard University by studying Spanish Language. This education in combination with other requirements allowed me to successfully apply for the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. If you are either a healthcare provider or a health administrator seeking to improve your cultural competencies by learning Spanish language, then rest assured
that the level of command I exercise over that language will help you to become clinically accurate and socially welcoming.

I'll be graduating from the Patient Advocacy post-baccalaureate certification program offered by UCLA in 2019. If you are a caregiver requiring information to support a loved one; if you are suffering a specific condition that requires a positive health-related behavior change; if you need to know how to handle the logistics of the healthcare system; then you may find very beneficial my instruction.

I have worked for over two decades in settings that include clinical, community and faith-based organizations and I'm ready to work one-on-one with you.

Thank you, Agustín

About Gloria
Hola!

I am a native Spanish speaker from Peru that offers private Spanish Lessons. I enjoy working one-on-one with students because it allows me to give them my undivided attention and attend to their particular needs. I truly enjoy the freedom to teach at each student's pace, there is no rush or pressure to complete a program by a certain date.

I work with a series of books that will take us from beginner to advanced level. I provide extra materials and exercises that will help you reinforce the concepts learned by practicing.
I also teach Conversational Spanish, those lessons are particularly develop for students of advanced level that need to continue practicing the language in order to maintain their level.
During all my lessons, I like to provide students with tips and creative ideas of how to practice Spanish in-between le
ssons, students always find my suggestions very helpful and something that they never thought of doing before.

You will find that as a teacher I am very patient, kind and warm. It is important for me to offer a welcoming and safe environment for learning. By making my students feel comfortable and relax I ensure that they will be fully present during my lessons.

Learning a new language is exciting and can also be intimidating. I truly hope you give me the opportunity to work with you and embark in this fun adventure together!

Gloria is a fantastic teacher! She is kind, patient and makes learning fun because of her great spirit and happy attitude. She knows how to describe and work through difficult concepts that are difficult for me to grasp. Even though I’m bad at doing my weekly homework, I can feel the language starting to click for me after just a couple of months! I recommend doing at LEAST a 1.5 hr lesson each week. I feel so fortunate to have found her!

Gloria has been such a wonderful teacher and is really helping me understand Spanish grammar better. I'm so glad that I decided to do private lessons with her in order to better understand the Spanish language. Her methods of teaching and getting students to practice the language have helped me retain information much better than I would have if I tried to teach myself.

Gloria has made learning Spanish fun and interesting. She is very organized and patient with me. I’m not the best student sometimes / my work makes scheduling a challenge and i don’t always do my homework - but Gloria always meets me with a smile and i always look forward to my lessons with her!
