Art is the absolute BEST!

Art is a wonderful teacher!! He is enthusiastic, reliable, knowledgeable and very personable. I feel extremely fortunate to have found Art to teach my 4 year old daughter.

My daughter has been eager to start learning the piano. I needed to find someone that is able to teach at her young level and to be able to connect with her shy personality. Amazingly, Art is able to make her laugh, smile, learn and have fun all at the same time!

My daughter has fun learning and we often find her practicing on her own at the piano. Actually, she considers it playtime at the piano! She is learning simple songs after just a few lessons. She is very proud of her ability to play and is always eager to see Art so that she can learn more.

I HIGHLY recommend Art as a piano teacher. It is obvious that he loves music, this is evident in his weekly teachings. As a parent, I couldn't be happier!!! Art is setting a firm foundation for our daughter's love for music.

My main style is classical, and due to the technical training I have had since I was very young, it has been very easy for me to learn and master other styles such as Flamenco, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country. I have a passion for performing and have played hundreds of solo and ensemble concerts. As a classical performer I have won prizes in numerous competitions, including the Pacific Guitar Competition, San Francisco Guitar Competition, Sierra Nevada Competition, and the OSAA Oregon State Competition. I have played concerts all over the United States as well as in Spain and Mexico. As a performer of other styles I have played in many orig

I recently won a Fulbright Scholarship to study Spanish and Flamenco Guitar in Seville, Spain for 2015 and 16.

Jaxon the Teacher: I really love spreading the knowledge I've learned over the years about the guitar, bass guitar, songwriting, music theory, and everything music related to my students. I find a huge sense of fulfillment in seeing my students understand and enjoy learning and making beautiful music. I have a high level of knowledge and skills that I am very willing to use to teach students from the most beginner to the most advanced. Former students of mine have achieved lofty goals ranging from making it into a music program at the college level to winning their school's talent show to being accepted into their school's jazz band.

About Shannon
I hold a master's in voice from CSUF and a double bachelor's in piano and voice from USC. With over 13 years of experience as a private voice and piano instructor I have had the privilege of helping many students achieve their musical goals. As a member of MTAC and NATS, I enter many students in Certificate of Merit, Student Evaluation Program, and other festivals. For pianists, I work on songs, scales, theory, ear training and sometimes improvisation. For singers, we work on a breath-based breathing technique and songs that reinforce good singing habits but that are also engaging for the singer. We also work on sight singing and theory.Though my training is mostly in classical music, I do work on other styles with my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
For pianists, I recommend the Premier Alfred piano course, or for older beginners/ad
ults, we use Adult Piano Adventures. I also recommend purchasing a scale/technique book and a theory book.

For singers, please bring a recording device (phone is ok) so that you may later practice the exercises which we learn in the lesson.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a Baldwin grand piano as well as an electronic piano in my studio. For budding pianists, I offer instruction with Piano Marvel software.

About Joanna
Hi!

London born, LA / NYC based vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Joanna has emerged as a unique voice in the singer-songwriter world. With a classical and jazz background her music combines post-folk and art-song with a poetic lyricism which The New York Times described as "sensitive and deep”. She is a master in the art of live vocal looping and creates beguiling vocal soundscapes to accompany her songs. The Telegraph called her virtuosic performance as "sublime and unique".

Since 2011 Joanna has released three critically acclaimed albums, her fourth, "Blood and Bone" to be released later in 2017. “Gardens In My Mind”, (Sunnyside, 2016), features pianist Dan Tepfer and the award-winning Sacconi Quartet, showcasing Joanna’s “crystalline delivery” (Downbeat) and lush string quartet writing. Downbeat gave this album four
stars, calling it "an exquisite singer-songwriter album”, while PopMatters called it “a truly beautiful listen from start to finish”.

In addition to her work as a performer, she has worked on multiple film soundtracks—her song “Satellite” is featured in the movie Pressure, starring Danny Huston, while other credits include All the Beautiful Things (Sundance), Desert Dancer, Dear Wendy and Summer in February. She is also the featured voice of the national ad campaign for Hillshire Farms

Alongside her original material, Joanna commissioned to arrange a full length concert and lecture "Beyond Joni", focussing on the works of female songwriters of the 1960’s, including Joni Mitchell, Judy Sill and Joan Baez, to name a few. This is an ongoing project to be performed around the world.

Joanna has had the opportunity to work with such music luminaries as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Kenny Werner, Lee Konitz Quartet. She has toured her own projects internationally, including Europe, Australia, Japan and throughout the US. She is also a regular collaborator within the dance, circus and theatre worlds.

Joanna is a passionate educator, especially in the field of early music education. She teaches with Grammy Nominated clarinetist Oran Etkin, teaching for his children's music education program Timablooloo. In February of 2016 she ventured to Mumbai to direct a choir of 200 children with the UK charity Songbound, bringing music to impoverished children in India.

She has a very confident and calm teaching style making the session very enjoyable. I certainly would recommend her to others looking to get back into painting or further their skills.

About Tracy
I'm a full time student violinist attending Fullerton JC as a music performance major. I just graduated from La Mirada High School in 2017. During my junior year of high school, I started the music club where we would organize events called "art nights", displaying an art gallery along with musicians performing on stage in the quad. I've been playing violin for 7 years and have given my classmates lessons in high school for a year. I was concert master at La Mirada high school as well as the district honor orchestra (NLMUSD honor orchestra). I have also played in musicals for 4 years in the pit orchestra. Outside of school, I would gather my friends to play chamber music in piano trios, string quartets, and duos. I have also played violin competitively in the SCSBOA solo/ensemble festival, earning a superior and making it to regional.

Hello! I am very excited to bring to you my take on learning to produce electronic music. I started making sounds and loops on my first Digital Audio Workstation (Ableton 9) shortly after graduating college (UCLA) and my passion has grown at an exponential rate. During my first years as a bedroom producer, I found it very difficult to teach myself the complexities of Ableton using the internet and online forums.

I felt that it would have been invaluable to have someone there during that time to mentor me in a way that answered to what I wanted to do creatively. That is my mission today - to help you on your journey to unleashing that side of you you have been wanting to express through your music!

I produce my own music in a style inspired by artists like Seven Lions, Illenium, Gryffin, and Jason Ross. I also have three years of teach
ing experience in total with nearly all ages.
