Nils is an extremely knowledgeable and accomplished instructor. He has extraordinary patience and excellent teaching skills. Coming from an adult student with high expectations, Nils has constantly delivered instructional value far beyond beyond what my paid "app" lessons were able to teach me. I highly recommend you give Nils a shot if you want to take your guitar playing to the next level.

Nils is extremely knowledgeable and explains concepts thoroughly and patiently. He’s very much mastered both teaching and performing his craft and is equal parts artistic and technicality minded, a balance most of my previous creative instructors lacked, and one I believe plays an integral part in teaching a craft well.

I am an experienced musician and performer with a variety of teaching skills gained over 20 years of study and action. Lessons in my studio are about so much more than just learning to sing a song or write music. Students are instilled with business knowledge, work ethic, and confidence so that they can truly accomplish whatever they set their minds to. We go deep and focus on how to develop new mental and physical habits that can help the student better express his/herself. We work hard on a curriculum that is specifically catered to the student's needs, and of course, is fun too!

I've worked with students from ages 6-65, with varying backgrounds and interests. From complete beginners to professional performing artists. All students are guaranteed to see improvement in their technical skills within the first month of lessons. Let's do this!

Chris was very patient with me. I had special challenges due to be an older student that started later in life. We communicated very well--asking and answering questions. Chris knew how to help me as I am challenged with intonation. He did not let me slide which is an excellent quality in an instructor.

When I had questions or problems that we were not able to figure out between the two of us he went to his instructor to ask. He was not afraid to admit that he didn't know. He respected me as a scientist who had challenging questions.

Overall, I highly recommend Chris as an instructor for viola.

Chris is super knowledgeable, flexible to make lessons work over Skype, and attentive to make sure the lessons are tailored to what I am trying to learn as a growing pianist. I’ve had a great experience, grown a lot, and look forward to more lessons!

About Anthony

Ever since I was 8 years old, I have loved playing the bagpipes. The instrument was not easy at first - and admittedly I wanted to quit taking lessons early on - but by persevering through the initial learning curve I took off with it and my life has honestly never been the same since. During my Masters at the IU Jacobs School of Music, I specialized in the performance of Baroque vocal repertoire and learned technical exercises that can help increase flexibility of technique in singing any genre of music. My diverse performance experiences across classical, opera, baroque, and musical theater enable me to encourage all students to reach their full potential with their singing voice and confidence that radiates into all areas of their lives.

"Outstanding!!!

I have been playing with my guitar for 15 years. I have tried a few teachers and they were ok. But I never felt as connected to wanting to learn and improve as I do with Juan. His approach feels perfect, not aggressive nor placid. Never do you feel out of place even when time doesn't allow one to practice. I didn't just find a guitar teacher but I also found a friend and music mentor."

I started with hardly any experience at all, and my singing has already improved significantly after only 8 weeks of lessons.
