Classically trained with years of performance and practical experience. I know how to help you make the music that you want to make. I am well-versed in nearly all music styles from classical to contemporary/pop. I am currently active in both piano accompaniment, vocal performance with the Pacific Chorale,
directing a very active north orange county community choir, and directing the choirs and drama department at Tuffree Middle School in Placentia with approximately 150 students in the program.

I recently completed my music credential and have graduate degrees in Education and Music.

I am especially gifted in teaching beginning piano, fundamental vocal production and dramatic presentation. I have extensive experience with the young and beginning acting student and can masterfully explain the dynamics of auditions and performin
g in the community.

*** Lesson Details ***
I focus on the individual student for curriculum and speed of progress. I utilize Bastien and other music curricula depending on maturity and ability. Within 3 months most students are performing simple songs successfully and within 6 months they have begun to master the more difficult 2nd and 3rd level. I believe in creating opportunities for the student to play in public and successfully perform by playing in small groups and bands. My acting students are taught through monologues and basic acting dynamics along with rehearsing through audition challenges and opportunities in the community.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Separate music room, grand piano, multiple keyboards available.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Professional piano keyboard and sound systems available.

*** Specialties ***
Piano - Foundations, jazz piano, Broadway, easy listening.
Voice - Foundations, breathing, operatic styling, Broadway.

My 10 year old daughter(almost 11) is taking piano lessons. She sings in theater and Mark has her sing along with her playing. She has only taken a few lessons but she loves it and Mark has a great balance of practicing and having fun on the piano.

About Benk Joseph
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 15 years ago, and have been consistently teaching private include in Yamaha Music School. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music!

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. Graduated from Musician Institute, Hollywood,CA. Performing all over the world, such as Canada, Japan, Shanghai, Macau, etc. Performing has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play with Big Band, Cruise line
band and local band in Los Angeles.

*** Lesson Details ***
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with really really simply technique to understand, easy to understand. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce "Rudiments" and sight reading. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.

Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.

The price is for Palmdale area. if you around San Gabriel Valley, we can discuss more.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Full Pro gear Yamaha Drum set with the sound system, double pedal, left foot clave, pro cymbal.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Sound system play along with the song, teaching equipment.

Our son loves his Drum lessons.

Benk is very flexible, affordable and our son took to him very well. He even records what he has learned each week so we both can keep track of his progress. He is much more affordable then other drum teachers or studio's in the area, and even will come to your home.
If you are looking for a GREAT Teacher you should take some time to talk to Benk.

About Emiko
I'm a highly versatile, enthusiastic and encouraging teacher with over 15 years of professional experience. My educational background is from the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

I was a professionally trained concert pianist as a child and grew up playing music my whole life, so I know first hand how much time, effort, and dedication goes into perfecting your craft. This also means I know how to make working hard a fun and rewarding experience (so it doesn't seem like hard work at all!) -- which is the most important thing that students feel so they can clearly see and experience their achievements.

I have taught students of all ages, genres of music, and levels privately, in schools, conservatories, and in group settings.

Having had writing contracts with major recor
d companies, I am also well versed in songwriting/performance coaching and lessons for professional musicians.

Music should be a fun and interactive experience that yields rewards every time you have a lesson -- I strive to make this a consistent reality for my students!

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can expect lessons with me to be fun, interactive, very organized, and a lot of open dialogue. I encourage exploration and questions about their instrument or piece/project we are working on. I am a big believer in "break it down til you can do it" which means to conquer difficulties through small steps, stringing them together, until the entire passage has been performed. This creates an immediate sense of accomplishment for the student, as well as showing them that they can really overcome any new challenges in the process.
I make sure to give my students a lot of information on how to learn and focus on their needs individually. As a rule, I don't have a specific method I use, though I do have a long list -- I prefer to focus on each student's learning and communication method and develop lessons so they can reap the maximum benefit.

After 3-6 months, ALL of my students should and will be able to perform multiple pieces (some from memory) and have a strong command of technique, and some theory -- this is all dependent on age and level, of course, but generally, this is what is striven for.

*** Studio Equipment ***
ProTools, Garageband, Digital Performer, fully weighted keyboard, acoustic and electric guitars, drum programs, and professional vocal microphones

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to provide a properly working and tuned piano or keyboard for piano and voice lessons, and for any other lessons, either a computer or their performance instrument of choice.

*** Specialties ***
I am extremely experienced in teaching piano and voice of all styles and levels to all ages. I have taught students as young as 3 and 4, and as old as 70.

I am very well versed in teaching composition, music theory, and have been hired numerous times to be a musical director/performance coach for artists and students preparing for school performances, pageants, etc.

Made TakeLesson an enjoyable learning experience.

Made TakeLesson an enjoyable learning experience. Each lesson is balanced, I am taught a new technique and reminded importance of warm-ups and practise. Excelled my expectation of learning from home, at own pace and choice because each lesson is always fun and exciting. If I was uncertain of a lesson, my teacher would make sure that before end of the session the lesson of the day is clear. Each lesson builds my confidence and I always look forward to the next session.

About Sean
Welcome, I'm Sean and I'm excited to get started on your personalized lesson package!

I currently live in Los Angeles, where I just received my masters degree in classical guitar performance from USC's Thornton School of Music. Through the program I had the opportunity to study with Scott Tennant of the Grammy winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, along with maestro Pepe Romero. Recently I was awarded first prize at the 2015 American String Teachers Association 'Aron Green' guitar competition, and have done recordings for Guitar Salon International, KUSC radio at LACMA's Sundays Live Series, and soundtracks for documentaries such as 'Revolution Food.' Now that I have completed my degree program I am eager to start teaching and performing more regularly. I have enjoyed teaching consistently for the past 8 years, which has ranged from Kind
ergarten classrooms to one on one college level instruction.

I started teaching guitar at the local music store when I was in High School. After graduating I went to The Hartt School in Connecticut to study classical guitar where I had the opportunity to teach non-majors in my program. During the summers I worked as a music director for an arts camp in East Hampton, NY. This job included a great deal of teaching kids who were total beginners how to not only play an instrument, but play in group settings with each other. I then moved to Los Angeles for my masters degree in classical guitar at USC. Through USC I worked for their community outreach program, teaching classroom guitar to middle school students and general music for kindergarten through third grade classes. Alongside this I began teaching at a music center in San Marino on the weekends, which I still currently teach at. This June and July I will also be traveling to Maine to serve as guitar faculty at the New England Music Camp.

Master of Fine Arts Piano Performance, Tulane University

I love life, and piano is a huge part of my life. I teach students of all ages and levels, and I'm looking forward to finding talented, passionate, and hard-working students here. I am very proud of receiving my Master of Fine Arts in Piano Performance under world renowned concert and recording artist, Faina Lushtak (Moscow Conservatory).

In their lessons, students are taught how to approach every piece of music confidently, economically, and artistically. My Master’s Thesis focused on the dynamic, interdependent relationship between movement and sound. Deconstructing piano technique into simple choreographic units helps students learn faster and play more expressively. I also teach the fundamentals of music theory through electronic music composition, if the student is i
nterested.

Ultimately I want this to be fun, but I require dedication, consistent practice, and a positive attitude. Parents, don't worry! Every student has a unique way of balancing hard work and having fun. Students of all ages will be encouraged to participate in competitions and the year end recital.

Let me tell you more about me! I am crazy about traveling! Some of my favorite places around the world are Siem Reape in Cambodia, Gotland in Sweden, and Kalymnos in Greece. One of my favorite things about traveling is seeing all the inspiring artwork made by the amazing, diverse people living on this planet. Ever heard of the artist Ai WeiWei? Factoid: My second major in Undergrad was Art History. In fact, I have dabbled in all of the performing arts. The pictures from my high school theatre productions are so embarrassing! My interest in theatre quickly changed to dance in college. I ended up getting a Masters in Dance as well! I am first and foremost a pianist, but my studies in the other performing arts helps me communicate with my students in innovative ways!
