I have been crocheting since I was 12 years old! While kids my age were out playing with their friends, I was begging my mom to buy me more yarn for my collection and various projects. I have a bit of an obsession with yarn. It is my strong belief that one can never have too much! When I display m

I have a great love for classical piano. I have a unique method for introducing music theory that allows my students to grasp the hows and whys of various pieces. I have great respect for the virtuosos and master teachers that have come before us. While I work on scales and cadences with my students - I also set up a program specifically geared towards what my students (and/or their parents) want to learn. I can be very formal (because I recognize its value) and very relaxed (because I know that this type of teaching is important for some people). Classical piano is not a walk in the park; there is a reason many people do not move to the next level. I make my instruction easy-to-understand and enjoyable. Well, the music speaks for itself - there are many classical pieces that are irresistible! Also, if preparing for a local proficiency review, I can assist you in accomplishing your goals. I use the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program from the Carnegie Foundation for a ...

I teach music. The guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele just happen to be the particular instruments I choose. Music as a language, discipline, and art, is the goal. I've been teaching, performing, studying, composing, for some thirty years. I've studied and gigged in the classical, jazz, rock, blu

Tim is a phenomenal instructor! I have tried expensive videos subscription services and have spent hundreds of dollars on Skype lessons with popular YouTube instructors. In the year that I have been playing, one month of lessons with Tim did more for my playing than 11 months with the other methods I've tried. You owe it to yourself to give Tim a month of your time. He transformed my understanding of the guitar, has taught me to be self-sufficient with learning songs I hear, and has made playing exciting. Without being able to articulate exactly what I wanted to accomplish, Tim's uncanny intuition for balancing what I think I needed with what I really need took my playing to the next level very quickly. Nothing can substitute the depth of his musical knowledge, but more importantly, his keen sense of feeding me just what I need from everything he knows. Tim carefully plans out a lesson for me based off of my progress, has me take notes, and gives me ideas on how to improve before my next lesson. The most exciting day of my week is the hour I spend learning from a great instructor and a great human being. I couldn't be happier with my decision to learn how to play from Tim."
He has a natural way about him, we feel like we know a long time."
Edwin took his time and talent and taught this senior to play
the harmonium first and is now teaching me the correct and
creative way to play the piano. This teacher is a 10 plus in his
ability to teach. So grateful for all the time I have been able to
devote to learning. Look forward to many more lessons."

Many of you may have seen this term “Fingerstyle Ukulele” and walked away curious. Isn’t all of ukulele music played with your fingers? And which hand does this term refer to, right or left? Well, fingerstyle ukulele refers to a particular style of playing which can be applied to any song. It primarily focuses on how you play your chords in the right hand. Most songs are played by strumming, but this style has us plucking through the notes of a chord, string by string, with each of our …

Having a few guitar licks up your sleeve is super helpful when you're improvising. Guitar teacher Samuel B. shares a few of his favorite jazz guitar licks... Before we begin playing these jazz guitar licks, it's a good idea to get familiar with the pentatonic scale. The pentatonic scale is a more versatile and useful scale than you might think. While being an easily-recognized basis for blues, rock, and country solos, it can be (and frequently is) a scale used for jazz solos, too. A …
