I believe anyone can learn to play the piano or sing, but you must enjoy what you are doing. Once you have a basic knowledge of the instrument/notes you will be able to start choosing music that you enjoy playing/singing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I use a Roland Digital Piano to teach my lessons. I use programs on the computer to reinforce musical concepts learned.

*** Specialties ***
I like to use a variety of methods to teach depending on my students likes and abilities.

About Andrew
My name is Andrew, and I've been a musician nearly my entire life. I have a Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance from Arizona State University, but my background goes far beyond classical music. My performance experiences range from playing violin in my high school symphony orchestra to playing lead guitar in a Santana cover band, and just about everything in between! As a teacher, you can expect me to be positive and encouraging. My biggest goal is to inspire you and help you discover a similar passion for music as I've developed over the years.

*** Lesson Details ***
While I do expect students to practice consistently, I always do my best to tailor the lesson plans to their wants as well as their needs so practice is both fun and challenging. For students pursuing classical music, I'll typically start them in a book an
d reading sheet music, but for just about anything else, the lesson plans will be more customized to the taste of my students and will not require music reading ability in most cases. After the first few months, my students can expect to have a solid understanding of music, their instrument, and what steps to take to reach their long term goals.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I travel with my own guitar and bass guitar, but for piano and drum lessons, the student will need their own instrument and a quiet area to get the most from the lessons.

*** Specialties ***
While I have a degree in classical guitar, I have several years of experience with blues and classic rock, specifically on the electric guitar and drums. Aside from those, I enjoy all genres of music and have plenty of musical experience outside of the aforementioned genres.

About Ginni
You can learn to play piano or sing at any age! Whatever your musical goals are, Ginni will help you to reach them.

Ginni has been teaching piano and singing for 21 years. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or advanced she will help you to learn and have fun making music!

Technique is key! As a professional musician Ginni knows the importance of good technique. Great technique gives the performer confidence and the ability to excel.

Ginni's piano and singing students are taught how to use their bodies to perform at their best. Some of the methods that Ginni uses come from her studies at university, personal study and from watching, listening to and performing with world class musicians. From all of this experience, Ginni developed a proven method for teaching piano and singing that helps students progress quickly an
d perform with ease.

Performance anxiety can be overcome. Using the tools that Ginni has developed, students relax, focus and enjoy their performing experience.

Reading music is important for pianists and singers. Ginni helps beginning through advanced students to more fully understand written music and quickly sight read it.

It’s important to perform songs that you enjoy. Students help choose supplemental songs that they love whether that be contemporary pop, traditional classical, Broadway, jazz, country or any other genre that they would like to learn.

Ginni’s piano and singing students increase their range, power, agility, control, confidence and expressiveness through technical exercises, scales, arpeggios, applying technique and lots of encouragement! Students grow the more that they share their talents. Students of Ginni’s are invited to participate in recitals, the Arizona Study Program and are guided through auditions, solo and ensemble performances.

Ginni uses the latest technology to help her students, whether by finding a song online for a student to listen to and learn from, transposing a piece on keyboard, improving the sound of an iphone song by plugging it into a speaker system or by using a mic to learn microphone technique.

A century old stand up piano may not be cutting edge technology but, Ginni’s sounds beautiful and her students enjoy playing it. Music is such a gift. So is participating in and watching the growth and progression of others.

Ginni asks her students to remember three things:
Try, Relax and Have Fun!

My 6 yr old son started taking lessons with Ginni about a month ago. He is a very active boy who has difficulty sitting still and focusing. Ginni is wonderful with him! She is very patient, kind, and understanding of children's specific challenges. She works with him while gently nudging him to stay on task. He actually really likes going to piano lessons and is always excited when 'piano day' rolls around. So hats off to Ginni for her skills in making learning music fun and enjoyable to an active little boy! I always wanted my son to learn an instrument (we are a family of musicians) but what I didn't realize is the process learning piano is helping him with needed skills in school: concentration, focus and discipline. I am very happy I chose Ginni.

I'm a beginner student with no music experience. She is very patient and enthusiastic. I was able to understand some of the basics of music beats and notes on the first lesson thanks to Cathy. She also thought me the proper position to hold the violin. I'm very excited to continue my four lessons with her and I couldn't choose a better instructor than her. You can see her passion for teaching violin. I highly recommend her, especially for beginner students.

About PAUL
Hi! My name is Paul. I graduated in 2016 from Arizona State University with my Master of Music in Performance. I am currently in the second year of my Doctor of Music Arts program in performance, also at Arizona State University.

As an educator, I have several years of teaching in a private setting. I also have experience working in public schools for short, one-on-one lessons and larger master classes on trombone. I have worked with beginners that are completely new to the instrument to freshman and sophomore college students. I also have experience as a teaching assistant for music theory (University of Idaho).

I have a wide array of performance experience. I was a tenured member of the Washington-Idaho Symphony on bass trombone for five years. I left to pursue my Masters degree from ASU. Other orchestral experience includes sev
eral Summer Pops concerts with the Great Falls Symphony, some featured artists such as Kansas and Charlie Daniels. I have spent several years playing in jazz bands, Jazz I from the University of Idaho and Concert Jazz Band from ASU. In the spring of 2016, I performed with ASU's Concert Jazz Band at Highland Jazz Festival where we featured Wayne Bergeron and Andy Martin. Recent performances include Salt River Brass' " Made in America" program featuring trumpet soloist Rex Richardson, Phoenix Theatre's run of "Bullets Over Broadway.", and performing with and conducting the Arizona State University Trombone Ensemble at the 2017 International Trombone Festival.

Katrina is enthusiastic, encouraging, and upbeat! My son has progressed rapidly on the flute after studying with her. I strongly recommend Katrina King as a flute instructor after taking lessons from her for several years. She not only plays the flute professionally but also obviously loves playing the flute and wants to share that love with her students. Her philosophy is that if a student does not learn a flute technique that it is the teacher's responsibility and she will find a different way to teach the technique until the student learns it. She has high expectations for her students, will push them to grow in their flute playing, while simultaneously working alongside the student to achieve their goals. If I have a question or a problem with regard to a lesson, she will promptly respond by email to my questions. Each lesson I find Katrina fully present, listening for improvements and making encouraging remarks when she hears them, while patiently correcting any mistakes I make and demonstrating how to play that part correctly.

Music lessons at my studio will always be fun and rewarding. I teach at my home where my wife and mother live as well. My music room is directly off of the entry way door, so it's easy access. Parents are always welcome to be present for all of my lessons and I also have a sitting area just outside of the music room door. So, if your little children need to be occupied while their older siblings take lessons, you will be taken care of.

I have been teaching music lessons for 16 years. I majored in Music in college and my primary instrument was voice. As a major in voice I was required to learn a variety of songs and also a variety of different genres of music. As a vocalist I learned how to sing and perform opera, jazz, gospel and blues. As a musician I have performed country, folk, rock, pop, and folk rock. I have experience performing
in operas, musicals, choirs, praise and worship. I also write and compose music and I also teach piano and guitar. My teaching style is very relaxing, but also to the point. I will not waist your time or money on useless information or exercises that will not help you to become a better musician. As a music student you will make many mistakes, but that is not a bad thing. Everything takes time to learn and learning music is no different.

I have never had to make myself stay patient with any student. Patience is what it takes to become the best musician you can be. I will always give 100% of my ability to help you achieve your goals.
