Having enjoyed success as a lead in ASU's 2015 production of the Britten opera "Owen Wingrave" and as the title role in their 2016 production of "The Drowsy Chaperone" (for which I received an AriZoni Award of Excellence nomination) I have recent experience with auditioning and performing. I also have even more recent experience with failed auditioning so I'm there to train and coach and then celebrate OR commiserate. I'm quite ready and able to be there every step of the way.

Is your belt weak? Is your mix non-existent? Do you wonder why composers even write their songs spanning more than one register? Do composers hate singers?! What is it?! I understand these frustrations. Let's have a shared love/hate relationship with Musical Theater composers.

About Frances

Hullo! I'm Frances and I've been teaching private voice lessons since 2008. In the past my students have been cast in roles in high school and community theater, they have participated in Regional Choir, and auditioned successfully for collegiate music programs. I received my training at Belmon

We have tried other voice coaches and none of them were able to connect with my son. Frances was able to verbalize things in a way that had my son understanding things that he had already heard but not fully understood. This looks like the start of a great relationship. I am very happy we have met Frances.

Frances is very welcoming and friendly. My daughter loved her right away and is enthusiastic about her lessons.

Great first lesson. I was a bundle of nerves, Frances put me at ease. I look forward to our next lesson.

All my students have multiple opportunities to perform throughout the year. I generally put on a Christmas student recital and a student recital just before summer break. In addition to these 'concerts', I offer performance classes once every other month where students get together and do a variety of activities which may include playing for each other, jamming, performing as duos and trios, or taking a lesson in front of the group. We have fun and all learn a lot at the same time!

About Phillip

I teach music. The guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele just happen to be the particular instruments I choose. Music as a language, discipline, and art, is the goal. I've been teaching, performing, studying, composing, for some thirty years. I've studied and gigged in the classical, jazz, rock, bl

I strive to teach music in a way that will work best for each person and enhance their natural abilities and strengths.

About Ben

In my opinion, the way music theory is commonly taught makes the subject miserable and difficult. Over many years I've developed a method of breaking it down into user friendly and bite size pieces, that can begin to be applied right away. I'm particularly well versed in teaching theory as applied to the guitar. Fun and satisfying!

About Indigo

Indigo has been working in the performing arts since she was biting ankles, first as a dancer and vocalist, and later as a guitarist. She's composed music for and/or sung dozens of international television commercials, spots on Law and Order and songs in Films premiered at the Tribeca Film Festiva

I just completed my first lesson and it was immediately helpful. I'm really looking forward to on-going sessions and I'm going to bump up the time as well.

Indigo is an excellent voice teacher. In a short time she’s helped me sing better, feel more confident in my singing, and make me enjoy singing more. She listens carefully to how I sing and provides helpful feedback for improvement and opening up my voice. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my voice with her!

I can't say enough great things about Sue! Under her guidance, it's been a pleasure getting back into playing my flute after a hiatus of over 25 years. Her knowledge of the instrument and expert instruction (as well as her infinite patience!) continue to provide me with the motivation I've needed to overcome some of the challenges I've faced after being away from my instrument for so long. Her teaching style is relaxed and flexible but firm; she knows just when I need to be challenged and just when to back away a bit. She's been a great fit for me, and I encourage other flute players of all levels to giver her a try!
Rina
Dr. Sue Sheya is truly an exceptional instructor. As a student who studied a little bit of music in Europe, it was difficult for me to adjust to the American solfege system (C, D, E scale) as I was used to the European solfege (Do, Re, Mi). However, Dr. Sheya was very flexible and adjusted all her lesson materials so that I could truly succeed in learning. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a supportive, friendly, and enthusiastic teacher that can truly guide them in learning how to play the flute!

"I recently approached Cindy for vocal coaching on songs that I perform on a regular basis with my duet. I am extremely pleased with her instruction. She was to the point, very clear and concise with her guidance. I know she improved my performance (I had a concert the very next day!). She gave me so much to think about. I really trust her approach with me. She made me feel very much at ease, which resulted in rapid-fire student/teacher give and take vocal direction. This is the way I like to learn! I loved my time with her and will certainly have another session with her soon!"
