I have been playing piano as a secondary instrument for 15 years, and I love sharing my knowledge with others. Music is a passion and a learned talent that requires repetition and patience. I can help guide you toward whatever your music goals are, whether you want to play professionally, in a band, or just at home in your spare time.

In just a few lessons you will learn the basic keys on the piano and correct finger positions. As we go on you will be able to play scales and chords. Finally you will learn how to read music and play all of your favorite songs. I start with the legendary John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano, Alfred's Piano Book, and A Dozen a Day Piano Book for kids. I teach classical, jazz, blues, and other styles of music. Both kids and adults are welcome. Take that next step in becoming a better pianist, and let's have some fun!

Thank you

First lesson absolutely amazing. Lonze is very patient and explains things so well that you have the perfect understanding and vision of the skill he is teaching you. I walked away with some fundamental music theory, skill, and a challenge for our next session. I’m excited to practice and looking forward to reaching my goals with Lonze, thank you.

Lonze is an excellent teacher. I am an adult but I can see that he would also be a great teach with kids because he knows how to keep the lesson on track. I am taking piano with him but I am sure he is just as good with any other subject. He is very friendly and very communicative when you contact him via email.

Lonze has been phenomenal teaching and improving my daughters playing. Her interest in sax has increased and I highly recommend him as an instructor.

"Hi. My daughter Eden is 13 years old and is a professional singer. I was looking for a vocal teacher that would be able to give my daughter new techniques to improve her high notes, expand her vocal range and know how to control her voice.
My daughter has had only 6 lessons with Benjamin and I can already see huge improvement. Every single lesson Eden learns something new.
Benjamin has a very unique way of teaching and explains everything in a very understandable way.
I really recommend Benjamin as a vocal teacher because he already improved so much things in my daughters singing."

"After a brief intro, Mike explained where're going with his lessons. I was having some problems getting my fingers near certain fret areas he wanted me to work on, so he very kindly placed some colors tape where I'm to put my fingers. That helped a lot. Been practicing an hour per day, & I'm getting a bit better daily. I've got a long way to go, but with Mike's help I'll get there. ELLIOT"

Songwriting Prompts to Spark Your Creativity

Songwriting is a seemingly mystical process by which some universal truth is almost subconsciously dictated through you as an empty vessel on to a blank page. It often - but not always - takes a form. It often - but not always - has a rhyme schema. And frequently - though not always - can follow a formula. Whether you're just starting as a singer/songwriter, or you're a veteran musician, the songs that make their way onto our hearts are not written so much as they are discovered. Songs happe …
