Very relaxed and easy to talk with. Really knows his stuff and goes at your own pace! Had some unfortunate technical difficulties on my end, but he was super understanding and I'm looking forward to my future lessons!

First lesson with Mr Park was really good. I have never used an online tutor before so I didn’t know what to expect. He did very well in assessing my current level and pushing thru material. Even limited self study he still covered things that I didn’t know that was pertinent to the language and I appreciate the way he explains things. The language is not a 1-1 and Mr Park did well in explaining how it converts over.

I grew up in an environment that required Japanese AND English, so I can sympathize with all of you who have a hard time learning the difficult language. After 14 years of studying Japanese at a language school, I have passed the highest leveled Japanese Language Proficiency Test and whizzed through the AP Japanese Language exam. Whatever your goal is, let's get there.

Sensei seems to really enjoy teaching. As both a native speaker and a longtime resident of the US, she is able to bridge the cultures in a way that many instructors would not be able to. I have been studying with her for over six months - both in a private and college setting - and I feel that I would be hard pressed to find a better teacher. In a college setting, she is very strict and covers a lot of material in a short period of time, and those who take her courses must be prepared to expend significant time and energy for success, but those who can keep up are well equipped to continue their studies with pretty much any other teacher or course.
Chris
Sensei Emi was patient, kind, and very thorough with her teaching. I started from knowing absolutely nothing about Japanese language or culture and now, having completed just 5 hours of lessons with her, I feel I have a solid foundation to build upon. Within our 5 hours we covered numbers, greetings, and almost all of the 46 basic hiragana. She was born and raised in Japan so it was lovely hearing about the culture and society from stories she lived through first hand. As I continue my education in Japanese I hope to return to her and continue to learn more. I highly recommend her as a teacher to anyone learning Japanese at any level.
Anderson
Emi is the second private tutor that my company has had and she by far has been the best, hands-down. She is professional and experienced but she is also flexible with scheduling which is a necessity for business professionals who travel quite a bit for work.
The homework is not strenuous but is focused and important for success in her lessons. She also teaches at a nice pace but also is willing to work with you if you feel that you are falling behind. You can absolutely tell that Emi cares about her students and their progression with the language no matter their age and experience.

"With Masshy as my tutor, I practiced writing and speaking Japanese within the space of one month and a half. I’m one of those people who feel more confident writing than speaking, especially in a language as different from English as Japanese, but Masshy was eagerly helpful, supportive, polite, patient and kind (the list could go on), and we had fun during our casual conversations, conversation games (‘The three-second game’ particularly stood out to me due to all the fun and excitement of getting to its end with as many questions as possible answered in less than three seconds), and even made up a story together. Feel free to ask him any questions, be straightforward about your needs, and he’ll cater to them to the best of his abilities!
