About Me

Musically, I have been involved with music and theater all my life. I started singing and acting when I was 8 years old. I started singing in choirs when I was 9 and never stopped. I have been playing piano, guitar, flute and harmonica since I was 10. I started teaching private vocal and piano lessons when I was in high school. In college my major was English but I minored in Music. I assisted my choir professor with teaching the first and second year choir students. I have been trained in both classical and contemporary music.
Academically, I have an AA in English and Computer Science. During my years in school I was on Honor Roll and AP English, History, and Science. I have also studied Psychology extensively.

Music/Performing Arts Tutoring:
I can prepare you for recitals, competitions, a musical career or just to learn for fun! I have a pretty laid back teaching style. Not only do I make sure that you can perform well but I also make sure you know the history of what you are performing and what it means to you. I allow my students to choose most of the music they want to play, as long as it's in their ability. I am also happy to rearrange the music so it might be easier for you to play and/or understand. It is very important that my students have goals and we work towards achieving them. I give small homework assignments so that you can reach your goals with ease. I put a lot of importance of family involvement in learning and performance. I have a monthly recital with all my students. I also offer free MP3 recordings so my students can track their performance audibly!

Academic Tutoring:
Struggling in class? Need help writing a paper? Have a difficult test coming up? I am happy to help. It's important to attend all tutoring session and on time. If you need to cancel, please call and let me know. I'm happy to attend classes if you need me to. I will have you set goals and I expects you to stick with them. Your success is my success.

*** Specialties ***
