Baking, Cooking, Fitness, Nutrition, Piano, Singing, Songwriting
As a young child, Jacquie began to show interest in both piano and voice. Coming from a musical family tree, her father began teaching her beginner piano as well as vocal harmony through original children compositions. She began her formal piano training at age 8 and continued to study for the next 5 years. At this time she also began writing music and recording her compositions in the family recording studio.
Around the age of 12, Jacquie began her training in classical voice. She is well versed in all styles from Opera to Pop and has the unique ability to train others to accomplish their musical goals. As a Coloratura Soprano she has starred in many productions and won prestigious vocal competitions throughout the USA and Europe. Jacquie is an accomplished Contemporary Songwriter and Recording Artist which has caught the eye of quite a few National Recording Companies. In the Summer of 2000 she toured throughout Tuscany, Italy as a featured soloist with SSMA with an Orchestral Ensemble. While in college she minored in Piano Performance and majored in Vocal Performance.
Jacquie began teaching at the age of 16 from her family's music store in beginner piano and voice where she learned the art of being an private instructor. Since then she has taught at other prestigious Music Schools and has trained students of all ages to the advanced level. She prides herself on the ability to be able to customize each lesson to accommodate both the student's wants and needs. She has trained many students who have gained successful entrance into LVPA Charter High School, Community Theaters and highly acclaimed competitions such as "American Idol." In 2005 she acquired a membership with NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).
Come have FUN with Jacquie, she would love to have the opportunity to guide you or your children through a musical journey!
As a private instructor Jacquie believes that lessons can be both FUN and rewarding. She holds her students accountable for practicing and preparing for the next week's lesson by setting goals and providing techniques in order to be successful. Throughout the lesson she will give praise for the students accomplishments as well as give constructive feedback for improvement. She prefers to teach from the Alfred's Piano Library for Piano, recommends Theory, Harmony & Solfege, as well as materials for the students choice of Musical and Vocal style. It is also recommended to bring a notebook, binder and personal MP3 device in order to prepare for the next week's lesson. Within the first 3-6 months a student will have learned the beginning techniques for either piano or voice and have quite a few songs added to their repertoire.
Jacquie's studio has a comfortable seating area for parents to observe the lesson if desired. She also has a full size digital studio piano, recording studio, stereo, and other musical necessities to accommodate each and every lesson professionally.

Cooking, Drum, Fitness, Karate, Strength and Conditioning
I teach a wide range of skills that include Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Karate, Cooking, and Drum lessons.
Most of my physical fitness training has come from the U.S. Army. I am a Veteran of Active Duty and currently serving as an Army Reservist. I have earned several Army Physical Fitness Excellence badges for having high/maximum test scores on APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). The other part of my training comes from karate. I currently study Isshinryu Karate, which include endurance, strength and conditioning training. While living in Boston I used to give private fitness instruction to students and would incorporate stretching exercises into my lessons for music students. I am able to teach fitness to all ages, but must have a current physical completed by a doctor prior to training. I write training programs for each individual based on their needs and goals.
I have worked in the for many years in a variety of cuisines, but my main focus is Rustic Italian. I attended the Culinary Arts program while a student at Daytona Beach Community College, FL and was one of the first to start the Culinary Management program. Over the years I have learned new skills, which I like to pass on to my students, that include, Irish bar fare, American BBQ, Country-style French cuisine, and game meats. I also teach campfire cooking that include fire building basics and cooking methods. While living in Boston I had weekly classes that would teach students to create meals on a budget, yet use quality ingredients. I have experience working as a Chef Grillardin, Chef Garde-Manger , Chef Potager, Chef saucier, Glacier, Tournant (swing cook), and a Food and Beverage Manager.
I have been playing music for 17 years and come from a very musical family. Even though my principle instrument is the drum kit, I am also sharpening my skills as a bassist, pianist, guitarist. I enjoy many different types of music and typically play pop, jazz, rock, Latin, R&B, soul, funk and fusion. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to attend Berklee College of Music back in 2004, which is when I started teaching music lessons around the Boston area. I am self taught, which gives me an insight to the frustration that some student endure during their beginning stages of learning. I have had the opportunity to have played with several musicians in Florida including, Reed Waddle, Phil Bonanno, Sergei Kossenko, TC Castillo and Lauren Ellis. I was also a Stage Production Manager for The Ultimate Thriller Show and have worked as a Production Assistant on several video production projects, so you could say that entertainment is in my blood. I take the time to create individual lesson plans based on the students ability and goals. Whether you want to learn a new hobby or start a career as a professional musician, I will help create your path.

I have worked with "regular-education" students, with autistic students [while working with Dr. Nyla Lamm (Professor of Education at Columbia University)] , and with mentally disturbed students. These students are ALL entitled to an education (just like you and I were). I love teaching ALL students. No exceptions!
I have a Masters in TESOL from Fordham University, a New York State [TESOL] Certification, and have experience teaching children and adults. I am very enthusiastic about working with people [because I love it!]. As my resume indicates, I have a degree in English, a Masters in TESOL, and a wide ranging knowledge of Spanish and History (my minors). Additionally, I have taught English as a Second Language to individuals and groups.
Also, I worked with La Guardia Community College as an ESL Professor. This is in additions to the 10 years of Teaching English to various multicultural groups. Because I know both languages, English and Spanish, well; have strong communication skills; and love interacting with people; I feel especially qualified to be part of your staff. I have tutored English to pupils at a correctional facility (OATKA), to college students, migrant workers, blue-collar workers, and professionals as medical doctors. Additionally, I have written standard, collegiate English for the English Club at SUNY Geneseo.
In addition, I have broadened my communication skills by going through Mediation Training, working with people from different cultures, becoming a Notary Public, gotten certified as a Mediator by the Center for Dispute Settlement in Rochester, NY, and going to numerous conferences dealing with Classroom Management, Learning Strategies, Learning Languages and Children Literature (among others).
I would be very pleased to become part of your staff. I am available for an interview at any time on a two days notice.
