My name is Sophie, I am a native French speaker from Belgium and have over fifteen years of teaching experience. After being a middle school language teacher for years I realized that my passion was for tutoring adults and teenagers one on one or in small groups. I love to build on whatever foundations (if any) my students already have and my approach is fun and interactive, the goal being to communicate as much as possible. I like to think that I make my students confortable enough to actually speak French when in real life situations. That is done by using a lot of open-ended activities such as dialogues, improvisations, Flashcards, games etc.

She is wonderful and a great teacher, we are glad we found her!

For me, it has been so fortunate that our paths crossed, she is an exceptional person and teacher.

Class is very dynamic, lots of different methods to teach, new vocabulary every week .

I have to say that of all the many language lessons I have taken in my life, I have never see such progression in just a short amount of time!  Sophie's technique is exceptionally effective and was personalized to my life and language goals.  She is professional yet also very pleasant, friendly and interesting to talk to.  I plan to return to her as soon as I'm ready to take up studying French once again!  Merci Sophie!

Sophie is an incredibly patient, kind, and wonderful teacher. She always went above and beyond to provide a comfortable & convenient setting for lessons. More than that, she is a very intelligent, down-to-earth person who will make your experience very personal and enjoyable. I've never had a tutor like Sophie, and I could only hope that I would get some lessons from her again someday!
