I've been teaching for 7 years and my students have gone on to develop a deep love of Chinese culture, study abroad in China, and more!. Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and as time goes on, you'll be able to communicate like a pro! I specialize in Chinese culture, simplified and traditional characters, typically use HSK books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: lesson recordings, worksheets, textbooks, games and more. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I am a life long learner who enjoys learning all sorts of different things, right now I am learning to play the piano and Gu Zheng(a traditional Chinese musical instrument). I like to combine music on teaching in fun and enjoyable ways. I would love to learn from you at the same time while we are learning mandarin together! I have three years Chinese teaching experience at a high school in North Carolina, US and three years ESL teaching experience in Guangdong, China. When I was in the United States, I occasionally gave tutoring lessons to Army personnel to prepare them for the OPI. I also had experiences tutoring adults HSK. Currently, I am doing my graduate study at the University of Washington, United States. Throughout my career, I’ve taught students ranging from Pre K to 49 years of age! Everyone is different, and different age groups present different learning needs. I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize lessons that meet students’ learning needs.
