Hello! I am Wagner, born Deaf from Dominican Republic. I have always enjoyed helping others learn sign language to bridge the gap that exist between the hearing and Deaf. I am certified in teaching sign language and began in 2005. In 2017, I began as a mentor to students enrolled in the interpreter program at the community college. Wether, you want to learn sign language to become an interpreter or to communication with a Deaf friend or family member I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

Stop browsing through ASL teachers on this site, Wagner is your man! He does an individualized lesson plan with your ASL goals in mind. Vocab, Deaf Culture, Grammar, Interpreting practice, he does it all. He is always encouraging but isn't shy about correcting my mistakes or pushing me harder. I started with short lessons weekly but soon went up to hour lessons twice a week because it was so fun and the price was so good. I was told how important it is to learn ASL from native Deaf signers and now I see why. Fully immersive but at my pace I'm learning exponentially faster than YouTube lessons or group classes.

A really good teacher and a great instructor for a first learner who is from the deaf community. I have been studying ASL for five years on my own and had a previous teacher who was 'hearing' for about a year. This is my first experience learning ASL from someone who is deaf and it is so different and something that for those who wish to learn ASL should do and Wagner is a perfect teacher for it. He is reassuring and makes sure you understand before moving forward as we practice and review fingerspelling and most basic vocabulary. I feel confident each class as I start off with a conversation about my previous day all in ASL and am excited to see his response and that he understood me. It amazes me that I can really understand him in our conversations and he moves at a pace that is not too fast and not sloth like slow. I leave class smiling and am excited to continue working with him!
