Prior to my return to the United States, I had been working as a Business English and ESL teacher and tutor in Greece since November 1998. I mostly worked with corporate executives whose native language was not English and who desired to improve their command of the language. I also worked with younger learners who prepared for various examinations such as the Cambridge FCE and CPE, the Michigan ECCE and ECPE and the IELTS as well as British university candidates who had to take preparatory courses in order to be offered a place at the school of their choice. In addition to teaching, I also worked as an interpreter and translator. My translation work focused primarily on business, legal and medical documents, but it also included marketing and economics texts.
