English (ESL) with Uzma R.

I achieved my Juris Doctor at California Western School of Law in April of 2016, but a traditional law career is not one that I envision for myself. I want a career that is meaningful, gives me purpose, and has a positive effect on other people's lives. Prior to law school, I honed my writing and editing skills and worked full-time as a certified teacher. I worked on creating school curriculums for school districts in the United States. The more work I do, the more solidified my goal to help anyone in whatever capacity I can. My past students are from different corners of the world, age groups, generations, and lifestyles. It was a pleasure helping them navigate the complex rules of the English language. In my free time, I enjoy creative writing, journalism, and yoga. My poems have been published in books, my news articles published by various news outlets. I want to live a life that shares my skills with others. I know I am lucky to have such a strong language background, and I firmly believe I am meant to share this with others.
