I am Tracy L. aka Dr. Stitch. I have a passion for sewing and love teaching the fine art of sewing. Classes are geared to what you want to learn at your pace and skill level. Lessons are usually at your home with your equipment and tools. I love to foster a lifelong skill and see the spark of learning something new as the joy of projects are completed. My goal is to surpass your expectations in everything from design to finish. I start with helping you define a comfortable space to design and sew in the comfort of your own home. I will help you set up a perfect area big or small to provide an inviting sewing environment so you can be ready anytime day or night when you get inspired to sew. I offer private classes and small group classes for all ages. A group project is chosen on the experience and ability of students. I offer alteration classes so you can get the clothing stuck in your closet and expand your wardrobe. I also offer gift certificates for birthdays or special occasions. I am available for last-minute sewing emergencies for trips, special events, and wedding parties. Let me share my passion for sewing with you as you discover your hidden talent and create your own portfolio of designs. I forward to meeting you and teaching you the fine art of sewing. I provide lessons in person in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Arizona or online via Zoom or Messenger.

I am Tracy L. aka Dr. Stitch. I have a passion for sewing and love teaching the fine art of sewing. Classes are geared to whatever you want to learn at your pace and skill level. I have been creating custom wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, Prom, Evening Gowns, Pageant Dresses, Christening gowns, flower girls’ dresses, communion, infant and preemie dresses/gowns, baby blankets, etc., and more for 40 years. I specialized in re-design, transforming a gown purchased or passed down to an original creation with your unique ideas and figure. I also re-design wedding gowns into christening gowns that mimic the original wedding gown, or I can take them in as donations as I re-design them for bereavement dress covers over a “cuddle cot” for local hospitals. Together we curate a mood board in your “Designed by Me Journal” workbook. Our first-class is at the fabric store so you can discover all things you need for sewing and design. You receive your own “Ultimate Sewing Kit” list that has tools you will need now and tools you can purchase as you advance in learning the fine art of sewing. Then we will start creating your Sewing Journal Portfolio! Shopping is a very fun and exciting time as we search for the perfect fabric accessories for your projects. I will share my tips and tricks along the way encouraging creativity, helping develop problem-solving skills, and most of all money-saving ideas. I am CPR, AED and 1st Aide certified and have a level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Homeschooling mom for 16 years. Training in ABA Behavioral Health, Mental Health Coach First Responder, Grief Share, and Symbis facilitator. Graduated from Charis Bible College May 2022.

Tracy has pure energy and enthusiasm for sewing. As a novice I wanted to get hands on help to get started and eventually move on to more complicated projects. I used my own machine and brought it to her and her home and was able to learn the basics to get me started. Plus the sewing sheets she provides are something I will work on at home. 10/10 I would recommend working with Tracy if you need learn from scratch or need to enhance your current skills!

Learn how to sew and see the clothing in your closet from a different perspective. I have a passion to teach and share my creative passion with you. We all have a closet of clothing in need of repair in common. Let me show you how to tackle your clothing repair via Zoom or messenger. You find the repairs and I will teach you how to fix and alter your clothing so you can learn to depend on yourself to fix it instead of putting it in the back of your closet to deal with on another day. Learn basic sewing to get your closet "ready to wear"! Sewing is a lost art and is not offered in school anymore. I love to ignite your passion for sewing and see your creativity come out as you tackle your clothing alterations. When you are done with the basics and discover a new desire emerges for creative sewing. Then the search for projects begins! I look forward to meeting you via Zoom, Messenger, or in person in your closet to tackle any sewing challenge!
