About Tim L.
Greetings! My name is Tim and I can't wait to get you started on the awesome journey of visual arts! I've been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have loved helping my students with the basics of creative problem-solving, understanding different workflows, and how to achieve their desired results. I went to Full Sail University and earned a degree in Digital Arts & Design in 2016. I'm just your friendly neighborhood art guy who has a passion for teaching. I also understand that no two students are the same, so I catered to the individual needs of my students. Stay inspired, be creative, and I look forward to our journey ahead!Show More

Tim is an excellent instructor! You can really tell he has a passion for both art and people. He's very approachable and you can ask him for feedback and tips at anytime. I would highly recommend taking any of his courses if you are hoping to increase your knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator or are looking to have a better understanding at creating your own illustrations.Show More
Tim has such an admirable passion for teaching and art. I'm so glad I was able to learn new techniques with him. Definitely would recommend anyone who would like to up their skills to take his online teaching course!
Our son Christopher has been passionate about art and illustration his entire life but with traditional art instruction had become incredibly critical of his inability to duplicate exactly what other instructors required of him. In that regard meeting Tim Long has been one of the biggest blessings for us. Tim has helped to re-build a foundation for a lifelong relationship with art. His teaching methods are creative, engaging and unlike traditional art instructors rather than coax or box-in a child's imagination he provides the freedom to explore artistic expression based on our sons perception of art. Christopher has begun to experience illustration on a completely different level thanks to Tim, learning that trial and error and problem solving are part of the process and over the past few months it has been a joy to see the artist in him blossom again!Show More
Tim is a highly skilled illustrator and overall great person. His laid-back, fun-loving approach to instruction is very comforting. He's awesome!Show More

When having to select a subject Tim has helped me in I couldn't choose just one. Tim has the patience to work with people from all different ages and skill levels. From digital devices to pieces of napkins he can teach you the value of sketching, story telling, photoshop editing, coloring, etc. The best part is, if he doesn't know something he will do the RESEARCH and get back to you! Did i forget to tell you that "Research" was his middle name. haha.Show More
Tim has stellar patience and truly cares for his students! I wanted to learn something quickly and he was able to walk me through everything step by step. He's an expert in Photoshop and a great designer, so happy I worked with him to get up to speed with Adobe Creative Suite!Show More
I've worked closely with Tim at a kids edutainment facility a few years ago. He's both a great leader and educator. He's always coming up with new and creative ideas to engage the kids and played a key role in the facility's success. My daughter would look forward to going in and learning different artistic techniques and other creative ideas from him, and i can proudly say that she auditioned for and was accepted into all of her magnet schools of choice using many of the techniques he taught her. Art has become her favorite subject, and she has a clear view of her career goals in this field, and i know Tim played a valuable role in her artistic development.Show More
Tim is a wonderful teacher. He is able to break things down to the most beginner level (I had never even seen photoshop, or any of the adobe suite) and build on his student's strengths to help you be able to get to whatever level you want! He is very personable and great to work with, you'll know you can ask him whatever questions you have.Show More
I've learned a lot of things from Tim while working next to him. When I finally set a side some time for a lesson I was very pleased. I learned how important taking extra time with my values while sketching was, and to take special care of how the light reflects off of the eyes of my subjects. Just thinking about these two simple things instantly brought more emotion out of my sketches. Tim is a truly skilled illustrator and designer but more importantly he has a gift for teaching and working with others to achieve a goal.Show More
Using my knowledge and experience as a graphic designer I help develop the creative eyes of my students. By utilizing the campus's warm and familiar atmosphere, I develop a curriculum that is both engaging and fun. Students learn how to gather and share ideas that can be later used as inspiration. They learn the benefits of using traditional and digital media to express themselves.
My responsibilities as a creative are the use of my artistic skill set and my knowledge of graphic design to find solutions for creative problems. It is my duty develop visual components that allow for the target audience to interact and engage with my clients. I am responsible for the research and the development of imagery that will represent, promote, and embody the message that my clients want to convey. I also provide consultation for troubleshooting unforeseen issues that may surface in the future. The Client's overall satisfaction with my services is the greatest achievement I can ask for.
