I am Thai, I was born and grew up in Thailand. I can help you with both "traditional" lessons and more day to day Thai phrases. The key to successful lesson planning is pinpointing the type of vocabulary you can really use depending on what you are trying to achieve. Most importantly, I can teach you what real Thais speak, what words phrases and attitudes  are most important for foreigners to know. We can determine what your goals are and if you need to invest in reading, writing or simple speaking Thai.

I grew up in the South of Thailand and moved to Bangkok to attend University. I majored in Political Science and after graduating I began working in Bangkok. I lived in Bangkok until moving to America with my husband in December of 2017!

She was a really good teacher. However,  she always late to show up (about 10 mins late). Then, she stopped showing up for classes. My daughter was waiting for about 15 mins each time because she is usually late so we don't know if she would show up or not but it turned out that she would just quit without telling us and without responding to the emails or phone calls. The classes were already paid in advance and we are trying to get a refund for many classes that she did not show up.

Excellent teacher it may be a little hard to understand her Ccent sometimes but she knows how to teach

If you want to learn Thai, Sophie can help. The Thai language is so much more than just saying the right words. In order to really speak and understand the language, you have to master the tones of each word. Sophie is Thai and really pays attention to the details when I trying to learn to speak. Learning from a native Thai also means you get the cultural aspects of what to say and how to say it- details that you could never get from a language course. Sophie and I will be spending the majority of our next lessons speaking mostly Thai, and less in English. It takes a lot of work and a great teacher, but if you’re willing to commit, Sophie can get you there.
