    Hey There! My name is Shannon Ferguson and I'm a professional photographer specializing in weddings, portraits and commercial photography. I've been teaching for almost 4 years now, as well as mentoring up-and-coming photographers in the Metro Detroit area. I absolutely love my job, I love photography as an art form and an area of study and I'm passionate about teaching. I like to make learning comfortable and fun for students. My patient and easy-going teaching style, coupled with my ability to sense if a student is grasping knowledge, ensure that every student I work with completes their lessons with me and has key takeaways. I'm very good at relating to others and I enjoy making new connections and talking with students about what they would like to achieve.I have done my job as a teacher when a student takes ownership of the knowledge gained in our lessons and takes their photography to the next level!

    Had several lessons with Shannon to build my confidence with my camera and lighting. Shannon shows a sincere interest and lends support and guidance during and after your lesson. Shannon communicates with you with terminology that is easy to understand and gives you many examples throughout the lesson that you can go home and practice to feel more confident. I would highly suggest more than one lesson so that you can go home and practice what you have learned and then come back for further discussion. You will leave your lesson each time knowing so much more than when you walked in. I highly recommend Shannon!

    I met Shannon several years ago when we were looking to upgrade our photography gear. She was knowledgeable and not a pushy sales person which set the stage for me trusting her expertise. I quickly signed up for several one-on-one Lightroom mentoring sessions with her. I had zero experience with LR and Shannon was super patient while I learned. She got me on my way to creating work that I'm proud to showcase. I've also worked closely with Shannon at a wedding as a second shooter and definitely learned a ton about customer service and the intricacies of quality wedding photography. I would highly recommend Shannon as a teacher and mentor.

    I first met Shannon when I purchased a camera. Right from that moment on Shannon was a source of valuable information and learning. Her style of teaching and the amount of content that she is able to teach is incredible. Shannon is very patient and meets the learner where they are at in their level of photography. I highly recommend her as a teacher of photography.
