SQL with Richard P.

Richard Patlan has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years. Richard currently works for Chedraui USA, He serves as the Senior DBA/SQL Programmer and is responsible for all aspects of the company's Enterprise Database Platforms i.e., database administration, development, maintenance and performance of over 250 production database servers. This includes SQL Server and DB2 instances on-premise and on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition, he manages all security for internal and external users, develops and implements database disaster recovery plans and provides SQL programming. Prior to this position, he worked for UCLA as a DBA and SQL programmer for the Capital Programs department. This department managed all major construction projects on campus. He was responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying back-end Relational Database Management System using Microsoft SQL Server and Db2. Since 2005, Richard has been lead instructor of several courses at UCLA and UCSD Extension. He has taught Introduction to Structured Query Language; Advanced Structured Query Language; Relational Database Management; Introduction to Distributed and Object-Oriented Databases and Introduction Geographic Information Systems (GIS) courses. He has also taught Introduction to Data Management and Analytics: Big Data and Small Data course at the Anderson School of Management, UCLA. He has also worked as a Senior DBA/SQL consultant for the private section.
