My name is Phoebe and I tutor Spanish and ESOL. I have experience as a Spanish teacher, ESOL teacher, ESL classroom tutor, and most importantly as a student!

My love of teaching comes from my experience as a student. I spent a semester abroad in Costa Rica, which not only helped me gain fluency in Spanish, but taught me what it feels like to be a language learner. I cannot think of anything that would have made me a better Spanish or ESOL teacher than being immersed myself in a new language and culture.

Once I finished my B.A. in Spanish, I came to Texas and taught it for a while before returning to graduate school to study teaching ESOL. Once there, I had the opportunity to student teach at both the high school and elementary school levels, which earned me a K-12 TESOL certification.

Since then, I have worked as a teacher and a tutor through various means. I have provided both classroom tutoring and private tutoring.
