I'm a senior in university and understand how hard it is to be able to learn a second language. Having taught myself Korean, I have found how to have fun learning a new language, how to effectively learn the language, and how to squeeze it into a busy schedule. That's why I am flexible with my teaching schedule. If the one posted on my page doesn't work for you, email me and we can work something out!
I have been to South Korea four times and have intensively studied both the South and North Korean cultures, so feel free to ask me any questions. I want this class to be focused on your needs and what you want to learn - whether it be vocab, grammar, culture, or everything!
I can read, write, speak, make jokes, and even make play-on-word jokes in Korean. I have received a certification from the Korean government confirming my proficiency in the Korean language, and I have taught a Korean course in association with IYF (International Youth Foundation) at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have also studied at Yonsei University (연세대학교), one of South Korea's top schools and the country's oldest school, for the spring of 2018.
As a native English speaker, who has experience teaching ESL, I am excited to share my native language and culture with you! I have lived in America my whole life and have so much information to teach. Everything said above can be applied to my English skills, telling jokes, slang, etc. I will be attending a master's program in London this upcoming year and look forward to sharing British slang and customs with my students.
I have been working at TakeLessons for over a year now and I have loved every second of it. TakeLessons is such a great teaching/learning platform and I am proud to be an instructor on the site.
I worked in association with IYF at Temple University teaching Temple students the Korean language. I taught to both individual students and groups of students. The students' Korean abilities range from absolute beginner to intermediate. The experience was so enjoyable for me that I decided to teach Korean online to further expand my access to students.+ Read More
As an assistant ESL teacher at the Nationalities Service Center, I taught English to refugees and immigrants in the Philadelphia area. The classes were made up of students from all different nationalities and English language abilities. I prepared lessons for the class and taught lessons by myself once a week.+ Read More

TOPIK is administered by the National Institute for International Education - NIIED. (Hangul: 국립국제교육원.)+ Read More
The lessons are for my 16 year old daughter, so I haven't experienced them myself. But I can tell from all of the information she passes on, that Natalie is an excellent teacher. She customizes the lessons to my daughter's interests and skill level. I am so glad that I was able to get connected to her through take lessons.com.+ Read More
Taking lessons with Natalie has been great! She breaks everything down easily, so that you can understand, and is very patient when it comes to your level of learning. I look forward to continuing my lessons with Natalie in the future! :)
Natalie is an incredible Korean teacher. Her lessons are always relevant, engaging, and useful. And having learned Korean herself, she knows the challenges that English speakers face and is great at helping others overcome those challenges. I owe it to Natalie for helping me get my Korean to where it is today!+ Read More
She is super lovely and thorough with her teaching methods. Her being an American makes our lessons easier because she understands the challenges of learning Korean from the beginning. Would definitely recommend!
Really loved learning from her! She is super nice and has a lot to teach. Thank you so much, Natalie!
Natalie is an awesome teacher! She is so knowledgeable and kind!! I would totally recommend her to anyone!!
Natalie was good. She has experience in teaching her peers at her university so her lesson plan was well organized. I was also surprised when she threw in some Russian, knowing I am Russian, to lighten up the mood. I am happy to learn from her.
Natalie was absolutely amazing. I was surprised how she knew all about the grammar rules. Turns out she went to South Korea twice and passed two government official Korean language certication tests. Also she has plenty of experience of having conversations with Koreans. She had perfect Korean pronounciation and knew words and phrases that were commonly used. Most importantly, I learned 'native Korean' from a native English speaker, so her lessons were easy to understand. I don't think I can find a better Korean instructor and will continue to take lessons from her.+ Read More
