About Monica K.
Monica is a genuine and passionate Sign Language Educator that has worked with all walks of life in her career. She graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies and Linguistics in 2012. After six years of traveling around the world doing various studies, she returned to school and graduated with a master’s in Sign Language Education in 2019 and a second masters with a second University in Educational Technology. Monica’s training passionately focuses on designing American Sign Language assessments curriculum effectively for heritage language students within K-12 settings, community colleges, universities, and worldwide. She has provided several lectures and participated in multiple work that got published. On the side; she is an activist for feminism, language rights, Black lives Matter, LGBTQIA, and more. Monica also holds a Wilderness First Responder certification, which goes hand in hand with her love for nature.
