I'm a Spanish professor and tutor. I received my Masters degree in Spanish/Education in 1999. I have been teaching Spanish at some local universities: USF, HCC and FSC for quite some time (20 yrs). I have also taught Middle School and High School.
I am an author of a Spanish grammar book for beginner students which it also includes 5 CD's. This book has been used in Continuing Education classes at USF and HCC. I also use it in my tutoring.
I love to teach Spanish and see that my students learn this beautiful language. Students say that I am very patient and explain Spanish concepts very clear - easy to understand.
I'll be happy to help you either in person or online.
Ps: I'm not teaching elementary or middle school kids at this time.
I have tutored hundreds if not thousands of students throughout the years. I lost count! 99.9% had been completely satisfied with my performance.
I have taught in three different Universities in Florida (USF, HCC & FSC) as a part time teacher, teaching Spanish I, 2, 3 & 4 for credit courses and Conversation Spanish 1 and 2 for Continuing Education.
At FSC in Lakeland, I traveled with 32 students to Spain to give them the best experience of their life as Exchange students. They were immersed in the language 24/7, living with Spanish families. I went not only as a chaperone but I also taught a convesational class in Salamanca.
In Continuing Education, I created the curriculum for Spanish courses. My book along with my CD's were used in all of the Spanish classes.
Taught Spanish I, II and III for credit courses. Taught Conversational Spanish to adult in the Continuing Education Department.
I taught Spanish to Middle School and High School students
It is not related to Spanish but it is a certification that I obtained which it shows that I like to constantly learn and study new things.
I just finished my first lesson with Millie. She is engaging, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I highly recommend taking classes with her.
Millie creates a warm comfortable environment and guides your learning at your pace and level. As a native speaker she brings a lot to the table that I’ve never had with traditional professors.
Millie is very welcoming and up beat. I felt comfortable with her immediate once meeting her. She took note of my interest and reasoning for taking classes and had materials prepared that were specific to my needs. Class was enjoyable, time went by very quickly. I am very happy that I chose her as my educator and am looking forward to seeing her next week.+ Read More
I had my first lesson tonight with Millie and I was able to learn many sentences and common phrases. I also learned there were 6 conjugations for verbs. I enjoyed my first lesson so much that I decided to do a second lesson each week as well.
Millie is a heavily experienced teacher and college professor. The way she teaches allows you to apply what you've learned in a practical way. In my case the use of medical spanish with patient scenarios was very beneficial. She was very accommodating to my schedule and provides other study materials to aid in learning and memorization. I highly recommend her for all levels beginner to advanced.+ Read More
