Chess with Michael S.

My name is Michael Sammann & I am incredibly passionate about Chess! I used to teach Chess in Ithaca, NY from 2003 - 2007. I worked with a wide variety of students ranging from age 7 to age 73. My favorite moment is when a students' eyes light because they solved a problem that had not clicked until that very moment! It is truly a beautiful thing to witness! I have access to some incredible tools. I am a manager at Mellow Mushroom in Sugarhouse, Salt Lake City & at certain times am able to display chess positions using a 60 in' TV screen in a secluded area. I am fluent with easy-to-use technology to make classes super fun. I also have the know-how of many aspects of chess. My classes will work through Chess History, Rules of the Game, Functions of Pieces, Probability Openings, Mid Game Strategy, Ending Tactics, among many nuances of this complex strategy game! It is my pleasure to teach & look forward to working with you or your student soon!
