Pick up Spanish, read and discuss literature, learn the culture

I believe in knowing a language by interacting with it. I like to begin by introducing vocabulary and readings. From the introduction of new knowledge. I have been a Spanish speaker since I began speaking and have studied the language, literatures and cultures of Spanish and Latin America for ten years. I lived and studied in Santiago, Chile while also teaching

    Experience

    philosophy tutor

    Aug, 2016 - May, 2018

    California State University, Stanislaus

Worked with philosophy students to read and understand the dense and/or complicated philosophy texts and decode their meaning; I helped students complete their symbolic logic homework; I also was extremely excited to help each and every one of my students either draft or revise their final essays for their philosophy classes.

    writing tutor

    Jan, 2022 - May, 2022

    San Diego State University

I helped university students of all levels revise, review, and draft their academic writings. I would give commentary on writing structure, flow, vocabulary (diction), as well as provide an ear for students to sound their ideas off of. I worked with many social work students, many English language learners, and better honed my tutoring techniques at this university Writing Center.
