    I have been a Reading Specialist since 1970. Since that time, I have written several books on how to avoid and solve reading problems. My first book, "At Last! A Reading Method for EVERY Child!" was the Main Selection on 3 of Macmillan Book Clubs: Early Learning Book Club, Teachers Book Club, and Library of Special Education Book Club. It is my greatest joy to teach children to read - especially those with reading problems and being able to share with them the excitement of succeeding. Over the years, I have acquired a sizable file of motivating reinforcement activities which make learning fun and keep the students coming back for more. In 2005-2006, I was honored by inclusion in "Who's Who Among American Teachers." I also love teaching Primary Math - the easy way. As a senior, I feel I have a special rapport with students - a gentle, seasoned approach that puts them at ease with the confidence that they are in very capable hands.

    She is a wonderful teacher, and very inspiring of her passion in teaching kids of how to read and write. My kid really enjoy learning from her.

    Mary is a top-notch reading instructor. She has helped countless people -- of all ages -- to become proficient readers. Years ago, she developed an amazing reading program that she has used very successfully with people who had struggled to learn to read. Her method, and the way in which she implements it, is highly successful and has worked REPEATEDLY with her many grateful and now highly successful readers! I acquired this method and used it very successfully during my many years as a special-education teacher. Mary is a "gem" of a reading specialist!

    I used Mary's "At Last, A Reading Method for EVERY Child" to teach my autistic child to read. It was wonderful have a step-by-step, well thought out, clear, and complete method to use! My child learned to read and learned to read very well using this program. For the first time in his life, he took great joy in being able to understand the world around him. While I was using her method, Ms P was available online and on the phone to help with questions and offer suggestions. She is an amazing, caring, and very experienced teacher and I can't recommend her highly enough. I'll never forget what she told me when I expressed concern about my ability to teach my autistic child to read (we had tried many other methods without success). She said, "If he can speak, he can learn to read". And she was right! I am forever in Ms. P's debt for giving my son the most critical and valuable tool in his possession: knowing how to read!
