I can help with this too. Assignments and homework with me involve traditional worksheets and pop-quizes but also includes new technology like Netflix, YouTube, and music when available and appropriate per parents. Perhaps you didn't know that your favorite movie star spoke fluent french, so you may have to reasearch it. My theory on learning is not to just memorize something, but to actually apply it in real life. Video logs may be kept to monitore progress and pinpoint problem areas to work on.
