I've recently returned from teaching English in Japan to kids aged baby to 18. I was there for 3 years and did some practice lessons with adults on the side. It was a lot of fun and it was great helping people reach their language goals. I'm patient and easy going but as a teacher, I expect students to do their part. You only get what you put in, after all. (Younger kids have a bit of an exception, naturally). I think it's vital to customize lessons to suit one's needs. For example, those that want to speak, we can do mock conversations, reading aloud and the like instead of focusing on grammar. Some questions you want to ask yourself: What are your goals? How do you like to learn? What can you do to integrate the language to your life? I'm fairly flexible in terms of meetings and schedules. I like meeting out in places since it helps me get to know the area I live in, haha. We can discuss it all!
