Latin with Logan K.

I studied Latin for many years through the conventional method of using vocabulary and a grammatical schema to translate a text into English. When I discovered Latin was indeed spoken by many people and began to learn myself to speak, I discovered I could pick up a Latin text and understand it without reference to vocabulary or grammar: it simply meant something to me on its own in that mysteriously self-evident way something in one's native language does. I should like to share the delight of this discovery with any others who are starting out studying what they think is a dead language and wishing there were some way to get past all the stale and lifeless grammar and memorization (though I must say, for those that feel the same, that I do enjoy studying grammar very much, though I do not trust it as a means to learning Latin, which can be learned better more or less the same way any other language can).
