Fun Reading Classes for Kids with a Language Expert!

Does your child struggle to read, find it unenjoyable, or just need some extra practice? I’m here to help! In these 1-on-1 sessions, we will practice developing phonics, language and reading comprehension skills while also expanding vocabulary and confidence. In each class, we will focus on reading a book and studying related letter sounds and vocabulary. We will cover a range of different fiction and nonfiction texts to expose your child to a diverse selection of stories and voices.

I have been a Spanish-speaker and language enthusiast since the age of 12! I am currently a graduate student at The University of Pittsburgh, where I have taught Spanish for the past 2 years (courses taught include Spanish I, II, III, Advanced Spanish Grammar and Conversation, and an Introduction to Latin American Culture course. I have successfully helped over 100 students learn Spanish and create fun and meaningful connections to Spanish and Latin American culture. I am also an online English and Spanish tutor, which has given me additional experience working with everyone from grade school children to college students. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and International Relations from Cleveland State University and my Master's Degree in Hispanic Languages & Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, where I am currently getting my Ph.D. in the same program.

Lana is an amazing Spanish teacher. We were colleagues at the university, and I remember having heard excelent comments about her by the students. She speaks Spanish as a native, and is really fun! I observed one of her classess and she connects with the students easily, acoording to their level of proficiency.
