English (ESL) with Kevin Z.

Hi! My name is Kevin Zambrano and I want to help you learn English as a foreign language. I am 25 years old currently based in Tampa, Florida and I am a native speaker of English and Spanish. I recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and I have also recently just completed my TESOL certification through the International Open Academy. I am really excited to build upon my extensive experience in TEFL classrooms and apply new concepts I have learned. I am enthused to teach and towards an opportunity to expand my skills and grow in my knowledge. As an English instructor, I have experience with a multitude of different teaching styles such as Total Physical Response, Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Learning, and Presentation Practice Production. Using that experience I have managed to create my own teaching style that adapts to student needs and increases student retention and comprehension as well class grade averages. In practice, I have used reward systems including positive encouragement that elicits high student engagement and response and assists students to learn the material at a faster pace and retain that information longer. I am experienced with educational technologies in online teaching using technology-based methods and power points, learning management systems, and props. I excel in increasing student confidence and trust, student correction, and continuous process improvement, as well as implementing effective correction in phonics, grammar From a really young age, I have always been involved in helping students in different programs that include reading, writing, mentoring and arts. In college, I assisted incoming freshman and ESL students in their accommodation process in higher learning facilities. I also volunteered at different reading programs throughout elementary schools around my home town. I’ve helped young students with their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. There’s a favorite quote that I learned from my TEFL this year and that is ‘teach, learn, explore’ and I hope to accomplish all 3 of those words starting with my adventure with you. Thank you.
